Chapter 2
"GET BACK HERE YOU PRICK!" Ah, Kacchan always knew how to speak so eloquently.
He ran through the linoleum halls, skirting through crowds and laughing loudly.
"Catch me if you can, Blasty!" Denki yelled behind him. Kids and doors, windows and billboards all went flying past him at Mach speed. Katsuki left everything in his furious wake. Everything except their five mismatched friends cackling behind them. Soon, Denki saw their classroom up ahead. All he had to do was duck in there and Katsuki had to calm down or face Aizawa-sensei's wrath. He used a little trick he picked up at the tail end of his first year to give himself a little power boost with his electricity and shot towards the door with "2-A" on it. Almost home free. Almost wasn't enough. Kacchan slammed into him with the force of a monster and tackled him to the floor.
"Looks like I can, Circuit Break," Kacchan confirmed smugly.
Laughter filled the halls as their friends caught up with them. Eijirou had tears in his eyes from laughing so hard as he bent down to help the boys up. Hitoshi was smirking, and Kyouka was trying hard to hold back her laughter behind her hand. Mina just let it loose, doubled down, and giggled loudly. Hanta was just standing there grinning like a madman.
Denki beamed at his friends and told Katsuki to "suck a pipe" before getting up and walking with them the rest of the way to class.
"Why were you even chasing me anyway, PomPom?" he asked. He hadn't really done anything, just jumped out from behind some bushes and Kacchan rarely scared easily.
"He looked scared like a deer in headlights, lmao!" Mina snickered from behind them.
Oh, so he was wrong. Duly noted.
"I saw him jump. Like physically fucking jump in the air" Hitoshi smirked at Katsuki from beside him, bumping shoulders with him.
"About three feet in the air, I'd say," Hanta confirmed.
Katsuki shoved Hitoshi back, glaring at them both.
"I did not jump. And I wasn't scared at all"
"It's ok to fear the least scary person in this group, Kacchan. We love you just the way you are~," Denki cooed. Katsuki snarled at him but said nothing.
The group piled into the door as the bell rang and they all looked up at the ceiling at where the sound was supposedly coming from. None of them caught the slight flinch Katsuki gave at the sudden sound as they all sat in their old arrangements. All except Hitoshi who, sitting behind Yao-Momo in seat twenty-one, gave Kacchan a strange look. Everyone was already in their seats and silently watching the door for their sensei to walk in.
Aizawa-sensei walked in exactly one minute after the bell. It was his way of giving mercy to his students, who might have had trouble getting back into the groove of things with being upperclassmen. He was such a fucking saint.
"Okay. So as you can all see, Shinsou is in our class this year as he showed great promise on multiple occasions last year. Treat him no differently than you would each other. He's earned it,"
Whoops and yells and congratulations filled the air for their new classmate. Hitoshi looked smugly at Katsuki as the boy smirked back at him before turning back in his seat. Aizawa took a pause before taking a sip of his coffee which the class had learned was code for "I'm giving you a moment to be happy, but the second this cup hits the table, it's back to business" and the room went quiet immediately as the cup left his lips.
"The second thing for today is some news some of you might not like as well" Denki watched as Aizawa-sensei chanced a look at Midoriya and Katsuki. Uncertainty and confusion rang throughout the room. Aizawa continued, "Over your spring break, there was a unanimous decision that now affects all heroes in training and their trainers globally. That includes UA," he started and took a breath before dropping the bomb. "Effective immediately, all hero course students and teachers must attend mandatory counseling. If you refuse, we must remove you from studying to be a hero as per international law," he announced. There was a pause of silence before explosions sounded on the far right of the room.
"WHAT IN THE FUCK NUGGETS IS THIS?!" Katsuki boomed. The boy behind him started mumbling incessantly, trying to figure out who would make such a law. The blonde twitched his palm and rounded on the shorter boy.
"WOULD YOU STOP WITH THE GODFORSAKEN MUTTERING?! IT'S TOO LOUD!" the explosive teen bellowed. Mina snickered at the oh so delicious irony of that statement.
Midoriya cringed and tried to explain to Kacchan that he wasn't trying to be loud; it was just a little confusing why they were being made to go to therapy so suddenly by the literal law. Midoriya was fidgeting with his tie nervously the whole time. Katsuki started picking at his palm soon after. The blonde slammed back down into his seat that he'd apparently gotten out of in his rage as the class chattered amongst themselves about the strange new information.
"ENOUGH," Aizawa activated his quirk as the class calmed down and looked at him expectantly. He sighed and started up again. "I understand this is a lot to process, seeing as how none of you have ever gone to therapy before. However, this is how the system will work: you will be divided up into three different groups. Those groups will share a therapist. Now, this doesn't mean that you will be participating in group counseling. The reason for this system is because no one therapist out there can handle this entire class alone. And we don't have the resources to fund one counselor for each of you. So we met in the middle and have chosen three therapists with an equal amount of students to look after. The only time you will have group therapy is if you need to work out an issue among yourselves. You may switch to a different counselor at any point. Although for some of you, I don't recommend it, as we have chosen them specifically for you. I'll write on the board the names of each of them and I'll email each of you which of the three will be your therapist at the end of the day, but for now, I'll be generous and let you all process the information whilst I humbly take a nap. Don't wake me up"
And with that, he flopped into his sleeping bag and was out like a light. The class all sat in silence for a beat before a few people started mumbling and muttering amongst themselves at this revelation. Denki looked around the room, eyes darting between all of his classmates in different levels of freak-out mode. He saw Katsuki's eyes glaze over with all the noise. Midoriya's constant muttering wasn't helping matters.
Everyone looked nervous, and no one knew why. Still, everybody was trying to keep their cool. Though nobody knew why, a flurry of motion and noise came from almost everyone. Eijirou was hardening his fingers and rubbing them against his palm gently, trying to school his face into a "manly" one and keep a casual what-the-fuck-just-happened conversation with Kyouka. Hanta looked like he was in one of those comedies where the guy was trying to look casual by whistling, which is the least casual thing to do. Tsu was picking at her sleeve while talking in a hushed tone with Mina about something else entirely; they were both trying hard to ignore what was happening. Iida was chopping furiously as well as announcing that everyone had to be quieter lest they wake Aizawa-sensei. Funny seeing as how he was being the loudest. Uraraka was picking at the pad of her thumb while trying to get Iida to calm the hell down because her ears were ringing. Everyone was on edge and no one knew why.
Way too suddenly, the bell rang. Denki swore he saw tears in Midoriya's eyes and he didn't know why.
Aizawa-sensei got up with a grunt and wrote the names of each therapist down on the board. Sergei Belova, Ayrondael "Ayron" Glace, and Myōji Daichi.
When he got back to his room, he looked at the email his teacher sent him. It was difficult to read for no reason, but he thought he'd figured it out. Sergei Belova. He really wanted to know who this guy was.
