Chapter 3
School ended with everyone moving back into the dorms that afternoon. Spring Break had only been a week, but the building was bursting with family members all excited to see their children as second years. Denki met up with his family and apparently his father had gotten back from work.
“I’m so proud of you, son,” he’d said. “You’ve grown up a lot over these past few months”
One of the nearby students commented that when being forced within an inch of your life was your normal Tuesday for an entire school year, maturity seemed natural. Denki laughed along with some of his friends who'd joined the group, but the joke in the comment seemed to fall on deaf ears for most of their kin. The moment was awkward, but they moved past it with the mention of the new law.
“Damn, that sucks, dude. I’m sorry,” Janus empathized with Denki. Much appreciated, bro.
“I think it’ll be good for them, considering all they’ve been through,” Destiny commented offhandedly from the couch while skimming her essay, looking for errors. It seemed her sensei was a merciless one.
“If you’re going to contribute to the conversation, pay attention, kid,” Katsuki muttered.
“Why’s it bother you so much? She’s doing homework, so at least it’s something productive. Besides, that’s just how Destiny is,” Janus asked. He didn’t need telepathy to know that was what everybody was thinking.
“The old hag’s really horny about respect and manners and shit,” he explained, subtly lacking either of those components in his speech. He suddenly jerked forward when his mother appeared to backhand him upside the head for his comment, making everyone stiffen.
“Don’t you dare talk about me behind my back, brat,” she warned.
Katsuki glowered at his mother before yelling at her for hitting him, earning himself another slap. Masaru stepped forward, apologizing for his wife and son as they loudly bickered behind him.
Then, the Midoriyas entered the dorm. The pair saw the commotion and nonchalantly went up to the Bakugou son and mother. Izuku cheerily greeted Mitsuki, to which he was promptly and ecstatically received. Inko waltzed over to Katsuki and she was met with the same energy, much to everyone’s surprise. Masaru breathed a sigh of relief and sauntered over to the quartet to join their excitement.
Denki shuffled over to his other friends, eyes not leaving the startling display.
“Were we supposed to know that Kacchan is like super buddy-buddy with Ms. Midoriya?” he asked the group. Hitoshi answered, shocked at the event, but not nearly as much as the rest of them.
“I knew he liked her; I just didn’t think he’d openly display it,” he stated.
“Way to keep us in the dark, dude. I think I speak for the trees and bees when I say that we would have liked to know that our resident rage box is a softy for a divorced, middle-aged woman that just so happens to also be the mother of the boy he hates worse than pizza rolls,” Hanta ragged on the boy, referencing the commonly known fact that Bakugou Katsuki despised all “edible,” things microwaved, quick, and easy.
“Well, let me enlighten you all. Katsuki calls Ms. Midoriya ‘Auntie Inko’, and, according to my sources, Izuku calls Mrs. Bakugou ‘Auntie Mitsuki’”, Hitoshi told them.
“Does that mean they’re related?” Mina wondered.
“No, apparently their mothers were both high school friends and so the boys have known each other since literally before they were born,” Hitoshi elaborated.
