Elizabeth woke up this morning to her phone ringing in her ear non-stop. She got up from her bed finally after it finally finished ringing after going off for 3 minutes straight. Elizabeth had thought she would be able to sleep through it since she falls asleep quite easily.
She went to grab her phone from next to her, but as she tried to turn it on, it wouldn't. She was saved by her battery dying. She got up from her bed and put her phone to charge.
It was a saturday so she didn't have to enter work till 8 instead of 6. This allowed her to eat a bigger breakfast and watch some tv before having to leave for work.
As she was leaving the house, her mom called out for her. It was strange to see her mom still home since she would always leave the house at 5 no matter if the store opened later in the day. Her mom would do that just to make sure that everything would be on and working and if something wasn't working she would make sure to tell all employees before they arrived at the store.
"Mom, what are you still doing at home?", Elizabeth asked her mom as she walked up to her mom.
"I won't be going to work today", Her mom said as she put on a sweater that was hanging on a rack next to the door.
"Why? Who is going to open the store? I don't have the keys and I'm always there before everyone else", Elizabeth said as she looked at her mom confused and annoyed that her mom didn't tell her before she got ready for work.
"The store is already open and ready for everyone to get to work, and here are the keys to open the front doors", Her mom said as she handed her a lanyard with a single key on it.
She took it out of her mom's hand and just headed to the store. Elizabeth didn't feel like arguing with her mom early in the morning. She looked at her phone and saw she still had around 20 minutes to get there and open the doors before anyone had to wait outside in the chilly weather.
It was around 11, 3 hours after the store opened and it was still going well. Some staff got mad that Elizabeth's mom didn't come to work as they needed to finish some things and were only able to do so with her mom there.
Elizabeth headed to the back to see if there was anyone who needed anything from the store in bulk. Normally her mom would be the one to care for the back but without her here, she had to manage being a cashier and the back.
As she walked outside while putting on her jacket as quickly as possible, someone caught your eye.
"Mr.Kim", She called out to the man that was there yesterday. "How can I help you today?"
"Good Morning, Ms.Sia", Mr.Kim said to her with a smile as he walked closer to Elizabeth.
"Just Elizabeth, so what can I help you with", Elizabeth said as she took out a small notebook from the pocket of the store's vest she was wearing under the jacket.
"No, I'm just here to see how the items on the list are doing and when they will be ready", Mr.Kim stated as he took out his phone.
"I'm not quite sure, since my mom is the one in charge of handling all those things after I gather the prices and the exact amount for each item", She said as she stared at Mr.Kim's phone curious on what or who he was writing to.
"Alright, tell your mom to call me then since she is the one who will tell me when it is ready.", He smiled at her, "Goodbye, Elizabeth Sia"
It felt as if it was going to be the last time she was going to see Mr.Kim. It felt strange but she was happy when he said her name.
"Oh and Elizabeth, just call me Namjoon. I'm not that old", He called out to her before entering his car and leaving.
"Namjoon", Elizabeth whispered to herself before helping everyone else who was outside waiting.
As she entered back inside the store, she headed to her mom's office. She quickly called her mom to tell her what Namjoon had told her and to get every list's prices ready so the next day her mom wouldn't have to stress.
"Hi, honey. Is something wrong?", Her mom said as she answered the phone.
"Hi mom, and no everything is fine but one of our customer's asked when his items were going to be ready? His name is Namjoon Kim", She said as she got a pen and paper ready to write down what her mom was going to say.
"Honey, I'm not sure when. The file of his items should be in the cabinet next to the door. It should be under the letter K. Is that all you needed?", her mom told her as she got up from the chair she was sitting at and walked towards the cabinet.
"Yeah, that's all, and thanks mom, bye", Elizabeth said as she hung up on her mom after she said goodbye to her.
Elizabeth opened the cabinet with the letter K on it and looked for Namjoon's file. She quickly found it, since there was only one Namjoon in this whole K section.
She looked through it and saw that his items he got were going to be arriving today after hours. Which meant he was going to be picking his items up tomorrow, which is a day she didn't work. She sighed and decided it was just fate that she wasn't going to see Mr.Kim at all after today.
She quickly remembered that he had given her his card with his number on it. She rummaged through the vest she was wearing as she had put it in the pocket of it after he handed it to her.
She took out her phone and texted the number on his card.
