Ranboo realizes how actually touch starved he is, mainly because of him always avoiding physical contact, duo to childhood trauma. One day, he freaked out about his housemate Tubbo going too far with all the bickering and caused him to get a panic attack, although soon being calmed down by the brit.

He questioned what happened, why the american would react so extremely to seemingly nothing at all, So Ranboo explains how uncomfortable he sometimes is with his clingyness, hoping he would understand. Tubbo, of course does, and makes sure to not cross Ranboo's newly set boundaries ever again. Although after a few weeks the taller finds himself missing the touch that the other offered him during his panic attack.

It's been three weeks since then.

The two never really mentioned this ever happened, but Ranboo could notice all the changes. And he was slightly surprised how carefully Tubbo made sure to not cross Ranboo's newly set boundaries.

After he calmed down that time, the two discussed the problem further, for once Ranboo actually relaxing eventually despite the toppic. He just.. trusted that Tubbo would understand. And he seemed to understand, giving him small reassuring smiles and shy nods each time he would speak about how he feels about physical contact. He carefully explained he wasn't usually comfortable with the brunet touching him, because it made him anxious, and Tubbo apologized a bunch right after, almost panickly. He couldn't have known though, he just thought Ranboo is awkward with affection.. not that he has Haphephobia. But that did make a lot more sense.

Ranboo sheepishly said that it's usually not as bad when he's the one that initiates the physical contact, however rare it is. For example when he reached out for Tubbo's hand that day, he let him hold it and caress his knuckles, he felt more at peace because he's the one that reached out. No surprise hugs from behind that he used to often get and almost go off this world with a heart attack.
