remus sat in the corner of three broomsticks and watched as sirius walked through the door. remus mouth went wide open when sirius spotted him and their eyes met. sirius walked over to the brunette boy and sat down in front of him, smiling wildly.

"hi." sirius blushed and held up a bouquet of roses. "these are for you." he handed the roses to remus, who was still in shock.
"t- thank y- you." he stuttered, but kept his mouth wide open.
"remus?" sirius tried. "are you okay?"
"i-i- i.... i-"
"you thought i was someone else."

"n-no"
"no?"
"no." remus said, who had started to process things. "sorry, i just- i wasn't sure it was actually you- and you are you- i- i- im sorry, i'm incredibly nervous."
"hey, it's okay." sirius reassured him. "take your time."

"no, no, no, thank you for the roses, that's really-" remus began.
"cheesy? i know, would you have wanted daisies? or tulips? i could've gotten you something else!"
"no, sirius. it's perfect! i should've gotten you something too!" remus smiled. "here! i ordered pumpkin pie."

"oh, really?" sirius asked as the waiter came over with a pumpkin pie and two butterbeers.
"i used to think you were afraid of me." sirius suddenly blurted out which made remus giggle.
"i'm sorry what?! why would i be afraid of you?" he asked.
"well, i don't know! but you know, there was always the possibility."

"that's madness, you're not scary at all!"
"well, instead i hear you've been in love with me since the moment we met." sirius said, which made remus almost choke on the pie he had just taken a bite from.
"oh my- did i say that?" remus replied coughing.
"merlin, rem- are you okay?"

"oh- yeah! i'm alright, i just- you know- pie..."
"here, drink." sirius told him and gave him one of the butterbeer bottles. remus drank almost half the bottle until he placed it on the table again. he cleared his throat before looking back at sirius.
"i'm sorry i-" sirius started after a moment of silence.

"no, no don't apologise." remus tried. "i should be sorry, this is not at all how i had thought of this moment happening. and i'm just screwing everything up."
"remus- of course you're not screwing everything up." sirius mumbled and reached out to take the other boy's hand in his. a shiver went through remus' whole body as their fingers touched.
