I'm sorry I haven't updated this story in like forever. I had a major writers block. and because I wanna thank you for your patience I'll be doing a double update. the first one is quite short, but the second one will be longer. I will try to update more frequently. soo I hope you enjoy it.

Chapter 1

It was just another normal day in the glade. Everybody was just simply going about their usual business, I had been out running through the maze all day, mapping it and trying to find a way out. I haven't found anything new in a while, not that that's a surprise. We, the runners and Alby, found out a long time ago that there is no way out of the maze. We didn't tell the others because we didn't want them to lose hope. I run through the doors into the glade and see the, oh so familiar set up. A new greenie has arrived.

After going to the map room and reporting what I saw, I ran up to Alby and a new face. Must be the greenie, I thought. "Hey Alby, how's it going?" I said to him while I stopped near him. "And who's this?" I asked while taking in the new greenies appearance. The boy was just slightly taller than me, has a cream like skin with pink, full lips, perfect for kissing, grey/blueish eyes and brown, tousled hair. He had a lean body built, like a swimmer. He was just gorgeous. Stop it Newt! You can't think like that, he's not gorgeous. He's just perfect in every way. Gaah that's not making it better. "Hey Newt, this here is the new greenie, he doesn't remember his name yet. Oh, could you perhaps take him to the homestead? I need to do something real quick." "Sure thing Alby, come on greenie, let's go get some dinner before there's nothing left." I say while clapping him on the back and I turn towards the homestead.

While walking toward the homestead, I explain some things about the glade to him. He looks around in awe. When we finally reach the homestead I ask him: "so what are you thinking about? Any interesting thoughts?" He blinks and looks towards me and answers: "just thinking about how huge those walls are. How did they make them? Where are they from? Who put them here? And mostly wandering what's out there. Do you know, what's out there I mean?" "Woaah, those are a lot of questions at once. Alright, nobody knows where the walls are from, how they were made nor who put them here. All we really know is that they protect us and at the same time trap us. For what is out there, past these first few walls, there's a maze, huge and confusing, only the runners go out there. Never ever go out there, greenie, it's dangerous. Now, enough with the questions for right now, let's eat something. I'm bloody starving." I answer his questions as much as possible, when I see that he wants to ask more, I tell him off and drag him towards Frypan to get our self some food.

While waiting in line, a lot of people greet me and ask me how I am, while they just glance at the green bean. Alby finally catches up to us and says to the green bean: "alright, Newt over here is going to show you to your sleeping place after dinner. Oh, did I mention to you that Newt is in charge when I'm not around? Oh well, now I have." "Good thing you're always around then." I say to that while smiling and pushing Alby slightly. The newbie says: "I think you'd make an amazing leader" I wink at him and teasingly say: "oh, no need to flatter me, I was going to give you a nice sleeping spot, anyway." The newbie blushes bright red to the tip of his ears, while Alby and I high five.

We finally got our food and went to our usual spot where Minho and the other runners were already eating and discussing the day. "Alright you shuck faces, listen up" I say to everyone at the same time I sit down next to Minho. "This here" I say, gesturing to the greenie, "is the newbie, he doesn't remember his name, yet. So I want you all to be nice to him and show him around as much as possible. I get it, I get it, were runners, we don't have time and so on so on. But if he asks you anything, you better bloody answer him! Or y'all have to answer to me. Am I clear?" I tell them quite aggressively. Alby and Minho are having trouble not to laugh too hard, while the greenie blushes like there is no tomorrow.
