How to write an MCU fanfiction (mostly y/n stark)

9 - High school stories

One of the most hardest things to get right as a writer is writing High school stories.

Because all old high school movies i look at now, such as High School Musical, Pretty little liars mean girls... they tend to ignore the fact that they are teens in high school.

Mostly cause they're adults putting adults in high school and they may seem to forget they actually are in high school.

Let me put it this way, high school years are the years where you leave your childhood and prepare yourself for adulthood. You need to figure out who you gonna be as an adult, while you has to go through shit as Puberty...

So, your characters can't be 100% perfevt or figured out yet... maybe it's this time of their life they figure out their sexuality?

Because let's be honest, your sexuality isn't something you think about or parents even priotize during your childhood. My best friend didn't even figure out her sexuality until the very end.

MIX THE SCHOOL WITH THE PLOT

An example is if you look at Pretty little liars that's set in their high school all focus was on everything but school. Maybe they had a hard time getting into college but other than that the high school stuff was put aside.

Why even write a high school show then?

One good high school tv show is teen wolf. Cause in that show, the high school stuff was mixed in within the plot.

Like when they went to a lacrosse game right after Derek had just died....
Or when Scott had a test while allison was being attacked. Or when Isaac and Erica was going to kill Lydia during Chem class.. the list can go on.

high school is a big part of a teen life, so make sure it's a big part of the story. And teens are teens, don't make them 100% figured out/perfect like high school musical.

Also, Girls don't wear high heels and advanced Outfits to school. Sometimes we can even go to school with a tshirt and sweatpants 😂

The same goes for Superhero stories, don't forget to mix their superhero life and normal life (like peter parker has both) into the story.
