The Silence Filled My Ears.

I walk gently into the building, the clash of my heels on the marble floors echoing throughout the building. The plain white walls towering high above my head- the silence filled my ears.

My ebony black hair drawn back in a tight ponytail, matching with the sleek atmosphere in the building. My flared suit blowing in the slight breeze as I slowly reach the heavy door at the far right of the room. I trail past the front desk, giving the receptionist a nod and stopped before the door. My attention turns to the small silvery box next to me, raised numbers on the surface. I smoothly lean to the side and punch in a code, a loud click rang throughout the building-bouncing off of the marble the large door unlocked before me and slowly slid open.

The sound of chatter suddenly attacked the silence, a loud cackle sounding from beyond the door- I walked in and the clash of the heavy metal crashes from behind me, the door closed. The walls coated with a layer of soundproofing drywall, covered in bright white plaster witch illuminated the corridors. White marble tiles covered the floor, the reduction of colour made up for the lack of windows in the corridor, vivid lighting filling the long aisle before me. Awkward metal doors lined the passageway, petite frosted windows placed at the top of each one. I quietly glide past the array of doors- embeded into the thick walls- heading towards the lonely glass one at the far end of the corridor. As I came to a halt beside the it -rustling in my pockets- I pull out a small sliver key, unlocking the door, as I peer through the frosty glass I can see hints of green; they seemed to be the only form of colour in the entirety of this building, pushing it open to witness a small cluster of cactuses sat on the desk. A fox fur rug beneath the black chair, and glass table. Along with a large filing cabinet- labeled with names.

I perched in the chair crossing my legs, kicking off my shoes and placing my feet on a grey poufe beneath the desk. The keys clacking on the computer- typing in my password and clicking in my calendar. Appointments. Endless appointments all day. I had one with Hendrix at twelve.

All of a sudden my door flung open and my assistent stood-catching her breath-in the doorway, her baby hairs flying as she bent over, inhaling sharply. Grasping the door handle "you have an appointment," she gasped "hendrix, twelve 'o' clock."

I didn't look up from my computer as I examined the files on hendrix, he was one of the newer patients, he had never met with me before today.

"okay, thanks lilith. Get him set up in room 15, if it's available at the moment." I replied. She gasped for hair and sprinted down the corridor, the door closing behind her. I slowly take a depe breath in and slide my black heels back on: climbing to my feet and marching towards the door. Locking it behind me as I made my way to room 15.
