There was a prophecy that foretold a destiny of couples all over the world. The prophecy showing up in marks unique to the couple. These foretold prophecies were deemed as a myth. A legend. A story to make kids fall in love with love.
Yet the red head had a silhouette embedded in her skin. It was a silhouette of what seemed like a dimond with swirls of mist around the diamond. It was a small and delicate mark on the back of her wrist.
One she hid behind the bracelet her beloved brother gave her before he passed. She told herself that she was seeing things, it was just a coincidence. Possibly her magic did it? Maybe, just maybe she subconsciously wanted it. Wanda was blissfully naive to it.
Vision had the same mark on his wrist embedded with identical location. However, the synthazoid did not even think about the soulmate mark. He thought it was possible that it was a design from Bruce and Tony. A birth mark or a watermark. Thus making it a part of him.
Wanda and Vision had always got along and felt at ease with one another. The problem was due to the fact it felt so natural, neither one thought anything more. That was consciously at least.
Every night she dreamed the same nightmare. Some nights were more lucid than others. Over and over again her twins death would haunt her. Why did she tell him to go? The poor girl was so intoxicated by her grief that she hadn't realised she was drowning herself by doing so. Vision didn't sleep which meant he rarely visited the bedroom corridors. He would spend the nights reading his favourite classics or feeding a new curiosity. As he pondered around the compound he heard a wimper that followed with a painful "no don't go. Promise... Promise." Every word stuttered and shaking. He had a urge to see what was going on. A duty to protect.
Following the source of the wimper the words became clearer. "Please no. Meant... Leave... Together." Vision stopped when he realised it was Wanda's door. He remembered he had told her to knock but she was distressed and wasn't making any sense. What he saw made the synthazoid freeze as he become overwhelmed with a new feeling. Wanda was shaking and rolling her bed. Whilst sweat rolled down her face stained with tears. Vision shook her gently to wake her up. He was met with a very much so on flight Wanda. Softly he stayed still peacefully "Miss Maximoff it is Vision. You are not well, would you like me to take you to the medbay?"
Her head turned with a glare that could assassinate the assassinaters.
A new sensation went up the gentlemans spine. Wanda sensed it and smiled softly. "Vis, no medicine will help. The only thing that would help is too see him again."
Vision had tried to read as much as he could about grief for her. He smiled at her, happy to see a smile. What she had said reminded him of what he had in his pocket. "ummm...Miss Maximoff?"
"Call me Wanda, " she interrupted.
"Right, Wanda. I got you something. I read that when you lose someone you like to keep something close of them to you..." she sat glued to his words and actions, "I wanted to wish you a happy birthday." She smiled slightly as the sting spread throughout. That's what hurt the most right now.
"Well I got you something," he continued. "I found a photo of you and Pietro and I thought he would like you to have this," he passed her a little box laced with red felt. She gently took it from as the marks on their wrists glowed unbeknownst to them. A single tear fell down her face as she looked upon the gift.
"Oh, if you don't like it I will get..." vision mumbled. She promptly interrupted "No. No need. I love it. I just didn't expect something as beautiful as this, " she explained.
Inside the box was a heart shaped locket. It had red background with beautiful engravings. Engraved blue in the necklace it said 'twelve minutes older' in Sokavian. Inside contained a photo of Wanda and Pietro. She held it close to her heart. As Vision tied it for her. She leant on him and felt happy and safe. They both felt a sense of belonging in one another's arms. She turned round and kissed his cheek "how lucky am I to have a soulmates as endearing as you?"
