downtown mayhem!

Tate sat awkwardly as T-Dog and Daryl stared each other down during their twenty-minute ride from the quarry to downtown Atlanta. Tate would glance between the two as they both tried to make some comment toward the other. It was hard to tell who was going to speak first, T-Dog seemed to always speak when he had something to say. On the other hand, Daryl never said anything unless he were to unleash his fury onto others. Tate never needed to speak much unless it was important enough or she felt uncomfortable. Together, the trio created this thick atmosphere of uncomfortable silence.

The truck swayed as they ran over the train tracks coming from the city. It was where they always had parked so their car would not get overrun by the dead. Plus, it was their only safe entrance since that was the place where they cut the fence to get in and out.

"He'd better be okay," Daryl said breaking whatever silence they had, "It's my only word on the matter."

T-Dog's expression remained unchanged, "I told you the geeks can't get at him. The only thing getting through that door is us."

Daryl did not bother to reply, instead, he wiped the sweat from his lip with his rag. Tate's body fell forward and back as the truck stopped, indicating that they were there. The three of them stood up and Daryl opened the door from the back.

"Let's just go get him before the two of you explode," Tate muttered, jumping onto the gravel. Her eyes squinted as she adjusted to the sunlight, grabbing onto the straps of her backpack.

The group ran over to the fence, Tate running a bit slower, more with T-Dog. Glenn held open the chains for the group, she ducked carefully trying to miss the sharp metal.

Rick turned around looking at both Tate and Glenn before asking, "Merle first, or guns?"

Without hesitation, and with offense, Daryl exclaimed, "Merle! We ain't having this conversation."

Rick replied emphatically, "We are," then glanced back at the two, "You know the geography, it's your call."

They looked at each other, "Depends where he dropped the guns." She muttered to Glenn.

He nodded, "Merle's closest. The guns would mean doubling back."

"So, Merle first," Tate said to Rick.
