"You didn't have to do that, y'know."
"The what?"
Leni asked the younger woman as they sat comfortably on the plane on their way to Dumaguete.
"You running up to me just for a hug. There were cameras everywhere."
"So what? I missed you."
Still feeling the rush of adrenaline earlier, the older woman reached for Risa's hand but she swatted it.
"Really? Even if your crush watched your live earlier. I saw how giddy you looked, Leonor."
Risa scoffed as she crossed her arms and turned her back to Leni. Their relationship may be private but the younger woman can't help but feel jealous as to how Leni can fangirl in public and it's not about them.
"Aww, my darling Theresia. It was just a crush. There's a big difference."
Leni immediately hugged Risa behind and placed some light kisses on the other woman's shoulder.
"I even read all the placards about us. I can't imagine the media not picking up about it after months of us being together in the same place."
Further explaining her case, Leni faced Risa and held her chin up.
"I'll always choose you. Don't forget that."
Risa knew she couldn't resist the other woman's charm. As a way of forgiving Leni, the younger woman softly planted her lips to hers.
"Fine. I missed you, too."
"Mhhm, I know you do. I heard a kid got their honey butter chips a while ago."
"Hey! I was gonna share it with you."
"We can eat it at the hotel later... amongst other things."
"Leonor!"
Risa playfully hit Leni's arm then put her head on the other woman's shoulder. A few minutes passed as they lay still enjoying each other's presence in serene comfort.
"I wish we could have more time before election day. I want every minute to be with you."
Leni whispered as she glanced at Risa who's already sleeping soundly over her shoulder.
"Whatever happens, we'll face it together. You and I. Happy?"
Leni continued stroking the younger woman's hair and kissed her temple. A short amount of time can be stretched in forever by being with the person you love and this right here was bliss for both of them.
"Happy."
