i walked over to the dress shock on my face and opened the card that read:

dear bumblebea,

i know you i love fancy events and you know i love you so here is a dress i would love to see you in. i am so proud of you and wish i could see you a little more.

love from,
izzie xx

i was so happy that the feeling of joy washed over me. i know i haven't seen izzie in awhile but i still enjoyed the thought that she's been thinking about me. i then headed back into the bathroom and did a light amount of makeup and put my hair in a nicer, slick back bun. i headed out of my bathroom and then sat down on my bed and strapped up the gold heels izzie had also supplied me with. once i had finished the getting ready, part of the night i grabbed my small black purse, heading out the door soon to be stopped by a boy i once knew.

quickly leo jumped up from the visitors seat that was outside my room just as my dad had done on the couch in the staff room but instead of making conversation he looked down like he had lost all his confidence. i was so lost for words that tears formed in my eyes. leo was now a lot taller than me, like a lot. his hair was shorter than before, which made his cheekbones more prominent. i just grabbed the boy and pulled him in tightly for the hug we had both been longing for. yes, we hadn't see each other in forever but we are family and family is forever.

"you look nice, wow." leo said, finally breaking the cool silence.
"says you, you look exactly like dad!" i laughed blocking my negative thoughts of dad just for a second to complement leo.
"do you want to head down?" leo asked putting his arm out for me to grip onto.
"yeah sure!" i said completely forgetting about my plan to show atticus my outfit before i head down to the dance.

i grabbed leo's arm and we made our way to the elevators. once we were down in the main hall i lost leo as i was so mesmerised by the chaos that was happening within the hospital. it was so unusual seeing all the staff drinking and actually having fun within the four walls in the hospital.

i walked down the steep stairs that lead to the main hall, my golden strap heels making light tapping noises as i took every step. i looked up from my feet and faintly saw my dad looking up to me; i tried to brush him off but there were noticeable tears within his eyes. he honestly looked proud if anything. there, standing next to him was not only leo but uncle mark as well making me pick up my pace. i hurried down and found myself in uncle mark's embrace as soon as possible.

"hey bea!" he laughed as he spun me around. "god you look 25!" he chuckled, putting me down and admiring my mature look. i did a little pose for him and shined an award winning smile. i also gave my dad a quick nod thinking it would be rude of me if i didn't acknowledge him. "do you want this dance?" uncle mark asked in a fake english accent as he bowed down and kissed my hand.
"i do my good sir!" i giggled following suit with uncle mark's accent and bowed, taking marks arm towards the dance floor.

i recognised the song as "country girl" by luke bryan which was one of uncle marks favourite song so i know he requested it. "Hey girl, go on now!" the stereo played which made mark jump like a little boy in the candy store from all the excitement,
"You know you've got everybody lookin'" he sang along as he spun me around.
"Got a little boom in my big truck Gonna open up the doors and turn it up Gonna stomp my boots in the Georgia mud Gonna watch you make me fall in love." i felt like a kid again when i used to dance around my living room with the family. i screamed and cheered as uncle mark showed me his embarrassing dancing skills. "Get up on the hood of my daddy's tractor Up on the tool box, it don't matter Down on the tailgate Girl I can't wait To watch you do your thing." uncle mark started to do some sort of western dance, stealing the show. "Shake it for the young bucks sittin' in the honky-tonks For the rednecks rockin' 'til the break of dawn." i started to sing along, grabbing marks hands and skipping around to the beat. "The DJ spinnin' that country song.'' mark and i both pointed up to the DJ who was playing the tunes. "C'mon, c'mon, c'mon." we both screamed, which made leo join in. "Shake it for the birds, shake it for the bees Shake it for the catfish swimmin' down deep in the creek For the crickets and the critters and the squirrels Shake it to the moon, shake it for me girl." the 3 of us all started jumping up and down with smiles on our faces now practically hugging. "Aw, country girl, shake it for me Girl, shake it for me Girl, shake it for me Country girl, shake it for me Girl, shake it for me Girl, shake it for me." we all cried out in the chorus.

slowly the song came to an end and we were all so tired but in the best way possible. leo headed off the dance floor along with mark and i was about to as a slow song came on but i was soon stopped by warm familiar hands. "hey bea i was wondering if you wanted to dance?"
