A few days after Winter break, it was last lesson of the day. Fräulein von Bernburg asked who would like to stay for a while and help her.

Manuela couldn't miss such an opportunity. She raised her hand right after the question.

"Somebody is very eager." Elisabeth teased when other pupils had left.

"As if it's bad."

"Maybe it is."

"We need to be cautious. That's all." It was late for pupils to come in for whatever reason, but early for a cleaner to begin her work.

"Manuela, what—" The teacher didn't finish.

The pupil stopped her, saying, "Please, I missed you so mich. It's not easy to spend so many hours not to be close to you." The girl was standing near the woman.

"We can't go to my home today." Elisabeth wasn't glad about the circumstances.

"Yes, but we're alone now."

Fräulein von Bernburg lowered her voice, "Liebling, we have half an hour." Thus, Manuela won.

The teacher gave the pupil a few tasks, and between them, the couple had a few kisses.

Still, nothing had been said at home. The family knew only that Fräulein von Bernburg liked Manuela as a pupil since the very beginning. However, no one could imagine what this innocent like turned into. Their girl was a couple with her teacher! Whatever their final reaction could be, the first one would be shock. Acceptance or not, Manuela's wonderful times alone with Elisabeth were only for them two to know. At least, if to tell about her and Fräulein von Bernburg, not until after school.

The pupil started spending at least big part of one day of each weekend in the company of her amazing teacher.

Despite Ilse knew all what was possible to know about the teachers, she had no idea about her form mistress' current events. Elisabeth looked like the most of free time she dedicated to work, and Manuela—to help the secret not to be known—told important events of her life every day as if Fräulein von Bernburg wasn't big part of them. Of course, the weekends' events were shared on Mondays. No lies, but nothing about their teacher as well.

"It's so interesting that Ilse who knows everything that is possible to know about every teacher has no idea about us." Manuela shared one day after lessons.

"I think, you helped the information to be hidden." Elisabeth smirked.

"Yeah. I tell everything interesting that happens in my life; especially on weekends. This way, she's sure I spend free days somewhere, but not with you."

"Such a clever idea. A girl with her nose in other's business knows not all about her best friend. Well done, liebling. If you studied to be a detective, you'd get an A+ for such a result."

Any time when Elisabeth von Bernburg had a parent-teacher conference, she acted as if nothing was going on between her and Manuela. Frau Käte had no idea about real events.

For the teacher and the  pupil, it was exact definition of romantic relationship. The only difference was that nothing more than kisses hadn't happened yet. For others, it looked like the two were on good terms. Just like since the beginning.

Manuela's rich aunt—the one who married a general—thought that the best for her niece would be to marry a rich man (an army person, preferably) and  to not care about anything. The girl thought differently, and Frau Käte respected her wish. Fräulein von Bernburg? She cared about and loved the pupil too much to let anything bad happen to her. If she had a list for "bad", marriage would be near the top if not number one. Besides, she didn't need to worry. Käte von Meinhardis wasn't going to throw her dear daughter into marriage.
