"We do" The deep, yet the soft voice of a man snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Was I thinking... loudly..?" I whispered to myself, but it was loud enough for the stranger to hear.

"Yeah" He chuckled softly before arising from his sleeping position and crouching beside me on the grass.

"Since when?"

"Not too long ago"

"Oh...kay"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, sure"

"What were you doing in that place?"

"I should be the one asking you that. What were you doing in that mine?" I emphasized the word 'you'.

"Why? Am I not allowed in there?"

"It's a mine, not someone's house though and that place is ceased so no one is allowed in there."

"I can say the same to you"

"Well... it's different for me, Mister"

"You are making me more curious about you." He said without any hesitation.

"I... beg your pardon?"

"Never mind.." He sighed. "By the way, do you have a name, or can I call you mine?" He said with a cheeky grin.

Wah!! He changed pretty quickly.

"Y/n" I replied shortly.

"It's pretty just like your face" I hummed in response, which was soon interrupted by a grumble. I glanced at the stranger for milliseconds, while scraping the back of my neck, feeling embarrassed.

He again let out a soft chuckle, "wait" He paused, taking out some snacks from his bag. "Here you go" He offered, but I declined. "Don't be embarrassed, have some"

With another grumble of my stomach, I finally accepted the offered snacks. "Thanks, Mr.-"

"Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook."

"Thanks, Jungkook-ssi"

"You don't need to be formal with me, noona"

"Noona? Do I look old to you..?"

"Kidding" He giggled.

"Better" I scoffed, jokingly.

As I started eating, I felt Jungkook staring at me. "Want some," I said while extending the crisps that I was eating to him.

He shook his head in denial and said, "Need to go somewhere".

"Ouk? Where?"

"Nature's call" He gave me a small smile, showing his little dimples, before standing up. But he tripped on his foot, making him fall flat on the ground. His forehead banged against my knee. He hissed in pain while I hastily crawled near him, "You alright...?" He pursed his lips together and looked into my eyes, giving a slight nod.

He came back after doing his business.

"There is something in your face," He said while eating and begin to come near my face, stopping a few inches apart. "What..?" I whispered. He brought up his hand and brushed his long, slender fingers against my cheeks near my lips. "Here", he whispered back. I stared at his doe-like eyes. Our eyes met, making my heartbeat, loud and fast. We didn't dare to look away. We didn't let out a single word. Is that....is that what we call a serendi-

I was brought out of my reverie by the sound of a gun being loaded, my hearing ability is pretty great. My eyebrows furrowed, and I grab onto Jungkook's arm. My eyes wandered at a distance, making him long for my gaze.

I pulled out a gun, secretly placing it near my chest. When the torso of the person came into my sight, I aimed my gun at him with a silencer in it, catching Jungkook off-guard. Ready...set...GO!

I shot him....dead.

Immediately, I grabbed Jungkook by his hand and guided him to a safe place.

I let out a deep, shaky breath, giving time to Jungkook for reading my unreadable expression. "What's wrong..?" He asked worriedly with a slight furrow in his detailed features.

I guess the only safe place for us is the cave, but we need to climb to the higher rock to not get drowned in the lake inside. "Listen, we must hurry to the cave. Since we're on the backside of it, we can shimmy through the hole on the back". I said hastily while examining the place. "Follow me".

Before he could say anything, I crawled to the right side to find the hole.

We slid through cracks and crannies. I looked back to make sure if Jungkook was following.

We shimmed through a hole to finally reach our destination.

"Looks like this spot is much safer".

But there are many bats and guano. Thank God! I brought a tent with me. I took out the dome tent from my backpack and asked Jungkook to help me settle it.

We settled the tent on one of the corners.

"Now tell me, what's going on..?"

I signed and told him everything about the goons. His expression filled with venom after listening, and he worriedly asked, "But...did you get hurt from the blast-are you alright?", showing his concern.

"Yes, I am" I gave him an assuring smile.

I want to interrogate him about why he was in the cave before, but seeing his face filled with exhaustion and stress I stopped.

And the goons are probably the one, who was throwing bombs outside the cave. There might be more. I should try to call someone from headquarter for help.

I took out my phone only to receive a message from Seo Jun stating-

"Hey, Chief ordered you to continue the case. He said you have to work on this case alone. And because of the weather, there won't be any electricity. And don't worry, those criminals are under our control.... I will try to send someone to get you out of there, but it will take a couple of hours. Please... be alright. Don't forget to take some rest in between."
