summary: y/n's cat, Seth and Hermione's cat, Crookshanks become friends pulling the two closer together bonded by their cats.

The door opens and your cat Seth jumps off your lap and runs out the door. "Padma!" You exclaim and quickly get on your feet running out the door after your cat.

"I'm so sorry y/n!" She yells from the distance. Seth had befriended a bunch of cats and has been causing trouble for Filch so he said he'd confiscate cats if he saw them getting into trouble unattended. You finally catch up to her and run down the hallway your arms stretched out to try to grab him.

Suddenly Seth slows down and stops as another cat approaches him. You take a moment to catch your breath as you see Hermione Granger doing the same. "Come here Crookshanks" she says sternly and picks up her cat securely in her arms.

You grab your cat and the two of you stand in front of each other "So sorry, he escaped from my grasp" she apologises "Me too, I just ran all the way from Ravenclaw dorms" you explain. "Goodness, you must be tired" she says "You could say that" "I guess they're friends" "Must be who he's been getting into trouble with."

You and Hermione sit down in the empty hallway talking as the two cats play with each other. You know of Hermione as she knows of you, neither of you have spoken to each other directly but you have mutual friends.

"Crookshanks is half Kneazle, what about yours?" "Black and white Siberian, his name is Seth" "he's adorable" "As is Crookshanks" you compliment.

"It's nice to be able to talk to you after so many years of seeing you around. I've always wanted to approach you" she says "Really?" You sound surprised "Of course" "Well here's your chance I'm free the whole afternoon."

You weren't sure if she was trying to subtly flirt or give hints or if you were hoping she was. Her eyes dart from your eyes to your lips each time you'd speak. She'd play with her hair a lot and purse her lips together or draw attention to her lips.

"It's getting kind of late" she says "oh yeah, course" "I think I'll be seeing a lot more of you" "hopefully" you add.

You both stands up dusting yourselves off, you slowly lean in and kiss her cheek "Goodnight" you say picking up Seth. "Yeah, uh I'll see you around" her cheeks now pink.

You go your seperate ways making your way back to Ravenclaw dorms.

Throughout the week you'd exchange glances and small smiles, she was constantly on your mind from just a small conversation. You decide to get away from your busy dorm and common room to study in the library.

You half hoped Hermione was in there too, you walk in and see her sitting in a quiet corner focused. You debate whether you should interrupt her or pretend you didn't see her and actually study.

You see her head lift up and she catches you looking at her, her smile is welcoming. You walk over to her "Hi" she whispers "Hey" you whisper back "We meet again" "Yes we do" "Would you like to sit?" She asks patting the seat next to her, you nod sitting down.

You take a seat and get out your books the two of you studying, you glance over at her a few times. "I think Crookshanks has been missing Seth" Hermione says "Seth has been very impatient" "Maybe tomorrow after school we could let them play" "Sounds good" "Meet me in the same hallway?" You nod as she packs up her books leaving.

You were only going on a cat play date but it was nice to be able to spend time with Hermione. After school you grab Seth taking him to the hallway where Hermione is already playing with Crookshanks. Seth leaps out of your arms and runs to Crookshanks.

"Hi" you smile sitting beside her "Hi" she smiles back. "I really wanted to see you earlier than this" she says "Me too" "I didn't want to go up to you in front of your friends in case you didn't want that" "why wouldn't I?" "some people don't like to be associated with me."

You can't figure out why that would be "you can talk to me whenever you want" "great." Her eyes continuously watch your lips.

"What do you think of Professor Slughorn being the new potions teacher?" She asks "I much prefer him than Snape" "Agreed." "Snape never liked anyone in Ravenclaw" "He didn't like anyone other than Slytherins" "Slughorn is much more fair, I didn't get invited to the Slug club but I think it's a good idea." "If it helps some of them are only there because of their parents, I'm surprised I got invited."

She presses her lips together again you feel the tension building up inside you, all you want is to feel her lips on yours. "You're in the slug club?" You ask trying to snap out of your dream state "Yes, so is Harry, it's nice to be included but some don't deserve to be there in my opinion."

Her eyes watch your lips again, your face's move closer together "just kiss me" you mumble "okay" she replies bringing her lips closer to yours.

Your lips meet providing a sense of relief for both of you, you pull her body closer to you. You both pull away briefly between kisses breathing deeply before pulling each other back in. Your hand moves from her cheek to tangle your fingers in her hair.

You pull away slowly "That was nice" she says "I think I wanted to do that since we met" you admit "your lips are so tempting" "you're welcome to be enticed at any time."
