To,
My dearestMummy always told me home was 4 walls and a ceiling over my head.
But to me, home became a 4'9, beautiful brown eyes and curly haired princessThey always teach us that drugs are addictive. Well what about my addiction? my addiction to your soft touch, my addiction to your presence, my addiction to the peace you bring to my healing heart.
My eyes have seen hope and they have seen pain but they have never felt enough honour to lay their gaze upon the most beautiful woman they had ever witnessed, My addiction, my happiness, my dearest. As she went through this letter that was subjected to her, tears of love ran down her gorgeous cheeks, Her heart yearning for her and her lover to be together once more.
Their love was very peculiar, it always put barriers between them.
She worked for a bakery in a small town and he was in the military serving his nation. There would come periods of time when they would be pushed apart for months on end. And then would be reunited once he would come back home from his deployment. It all started when they were 16, they knew eachother since childhood and couldn't be drawn apart. They were like moths to a flame but who knew that flame would be an eternal flame of the love that would come into inception between their young hearts.
Time went on as they became inseparable friends. On her 16th birthday he finally decided that this was the woman he would never leave for the rest of his life.
Therefore, he proposed to her on her happiest day. That day came to her with more than just a new age, it came to her with a lover she would never be able to forget.Being best friends to lovers was a leap of faith they both were willing to take and the price to pay for that love was nothing short of expensive.
As time passed on and he had to forcibly enrol in the military, he couldn't find the courage in his fragile heart to tell her.
And so he went on with his deployment at age 18.The first letter came to her the very next day which read,
"My love,
To you belongs my heart and to you belongs my soul.
I apologise this weak heart didn't have the courage to tell you i would be gone for some time, but it is with a heavy heart that i say to you oh dearest, i have been enrolled in the military and our next rendezvous will be in 2 weeks.
I hope you stay strong my precious.I will be back soon"
Both euphoria and sadness filled her heart as she read that letter and she couldn't help by cry out of love for her partner.
Not because he was gone, but because she couldn't figure out how she was going to live for the next 2 weeks without hearing his voice or being held in his protective arms. But like everything in life, she eventually accepted the facts and continued her life as usual. But don't think for a second her heart didn't yearn for her lover every second of every day.
Fast forward to May, after 2 weeks of being away he was back home.
She waited at the bus stop eagerly to catch a glimpse of the bus popping into her view over the horizon.
When the bus finally arrived she saw him tussling to get towards the door so he could be free at last with his lover. They both bolted towards one another when the doors finally opened.
It felt like an eternity waiting for the bus to come to a full stop and for them to reunite.
He held her in his arms as tightly as his body would allow. Both their eyes let out a river of tears as they felt the pounding heartbeat of one another.Reunited finally, they walked back home as the mid spring breeze swept her beautiful brown hair and there was not a single thought on his mind as he looked at her while walking other than "What a shame, if i knew i would have this peace in my soul with this beautiful woman, i would have asked her out earlier".
They held hands as she kept on telling him how much she had missed him.
There was not a second of the day when they wouldn't think about eachother.
As time kept going by, this kept on happening, the same feelings of attachment would over come their young souls as he would leave every other week.
Life however, kept moving forward as usual.
Every day their love becoming stronger and stronger. With its due course, they had given thought to marriage, when they were both 24 they decided to get married.
And with the blessings of their families they became more than just partners, it was written in stone that they were now soulmates.Inseparable would be an understatement to the love they had for eachother.
To do that true justice, he would show his inner child to her when they were alone and when she needed him, he would be the man she desired most.
Whenever she would be cooking, he would be setting up the table, whenever she was relaxing, he would be cleaning the dishes, whenever she would be getting ready to go bed, he would be busy making sure his partner had everything she needed. He was more than just observant, he would take mental notes of what his lady needed, when she needed it, what way she wanted it in.
He was a true hopeless romantic to say the least. He would always take the time out of his day to go and meet her and to make sure all her problems were dealt with together.
He would never let her face anything alone.
She thought he was doing it out of love, well, to him he was doing it out of desperation as he couldn't bear the thought of ever being alone through his difficulties.
And so in reality, he was just giving her what he never had before he met her.
Such a pure way of love it was.As time went on and they continued with their lives, he one day decided to take her to that beautiful park again where he had proposed to his childhood friend, his lover, his soulmate.
As they walked to the same bench they used to sit on, he asked her to have a seat there with him and put her head on his lap to watch the countless stars above their heads.
He softly spoke to her and said "You wanna know what always got me through those sleepless nights in the army?"
What - she asked with a curious look on her face.
Gliding his fingers through her hair he opened up to her and told her:
"My love, what got me through those nights was the thought that i may be far away from my dearest, but atleast we get to sleep under the same moon"
She stared into his eyes as she began to tear up knowing that she was in love with the man who would rather sacrifice his life than see her get hurt by the smallest thorn.
She told him
"I wouldn't change a thing about you for the world my love"They gazed into the night sky that beautiful night and kept talking about how beautiful life has been since they turned 16.
Truly what a masterpiece of a story was written for their collective fate❤
It was time to say goodbye to the love of his life, and time for his their story to end.
He wrote her one final letter
"Let me take care of your broken heart
and show you how to fly.
Let me hold you gently by the hand
and kiss your tears goodbye.I say this from the depths of my heart.
I haven't found you yet my love, but you have the word of a man who lives by his word, i will not fail you.
I will try time after time again just to protect you from the hurt this world causes to fragile souls like us.
I will never let you see a day where you would go to sleep knowing you don't have a smile lighting up your gorgeous face.
You will be given the utmost importance by me, my precious.
But sadly, i haven't found you yet oh love.
With a heavy heart i say this to myself every night, Patience oh my soul, for beautiful things await"
With the final quote closed, he put down his pen and stepped back into reality, a reality where his love had'nt found him yet.
A reality which was hurtful, but very shortlived indeed.
He had hope, that one day he would cross paths with his soulmate and make his dreams come true. But now was not the time for his wishes to be fulfilled.Everyday that passed, he kept writing to a lover he never had.
My dearest, my precious.
My soul awaits you eagerly❤
