It was finally Friday as I walked through the halls of mindless dumbasses. One of the jock guys bumped into me and smirked. I glared at him, narrow-eyed, and twisted his wrist pretty hard as I whispered, "I will break every bone in your-," I was interrupted by a familiar voice. I took a quick glance from the corner of my eye to see ava.

"H-hey Angel." She greeted me with an adorable smile, a smile even I couldn't resist. I let go of the jock's wrist, and he ran off with his stupid friends.

"Hey, Ava, what's up?" I voiced flatly, though I tried to sound enthusiastic. Of course, I was happy to see her.

"Oh well, I.. was hoping you could walk me to my locker, I forgot where it was.." She looked up at me, hoping I'd agree with her. Her eyes were similar to a puppy against me, I couldn't say no. I walked with ava to her locker, ignoring all the whispers around us and in my head, In all honestly, I was checking her out.

During class, I answered a few questions correctly, but I couldn't get ava out of my mind. Her little laugh, her- Wait, why am I thinking about this much? especially when I don't know her. What is it exactly about her that drives me insane?

It was now 12:45 pm, lunchtime, as I was heading to the bathroom, I saw some guy either trying to hit on or bully ava. "Hey, there, cutie, doing anything tonight? If you want, I could give you my number. You seem like a good fuck," The guy said with a sly smile across his face.

"Ew no thank you, I don't think you can even handle me, little boy," Ava confidently remarked before she saw me coming her way, "Hey babe, I was just coming your way." Ava lightly waved, the look in her eyes told me she needed help, She seemed disgusted by the stupid jock despite her false confidence.

The guy looked over his shoulder, following ava's eyes, and immediately ran for the hills as soon as he saw me.

"You okay? What'd he do to you?." I asked concerningly, yet I was jealous for some odd reason.

"Now that you're here, yes." She responded flirtatiously. I blushed a bit, my mask fell a bit, but I quickly composed myself and cleared my throat, "What are you doing in the hallway anyway?".

"Well," She said with a light groan from annoyance, "I was heading to the bathroom before that disgusting guy dared to try and get with me." We eventually went to the cafeteria after visiting the bathroom together.

When school ended, we decided to give each other our numbers and planned on texting one another, I was so happy and excited that I couldn't wait to get home.  After getting a shower, I sped downstairs to the smell of spaghetti and sat at the table. "Hello sweetie, how was school?." my mother asked with a smile on her face, happy to see me.

"Uh, it was good," I responded a bit nervously, wanting to tell her about Ava. The last time I came out to someone, it didn't end well. I'm not sure how mom would take it, I was afraid to the point of possibly throwing up right then and there.

My mother noticed the look on my face and rested her hand on mine with a gentle squeeze, "Sweetie, are you okay? is something hurting you? you can tell me you know," She looked at me concerningly. My mother had the sweetest eyes you ever laid your eyes on, but...I was scared, I saw the same look before, and I wasn't ready, "Y-yes I'm okay, mom, just a headache." I spoke with a little chuckle, "How was work?".

"I was good, stressful but good," She responded with a kind yet tired voice, "I have some Advil in my room, I'll give you one after dinner, okay?".

"Okay, thanks, mom..uh want a massage?" I asked worriedly for my mother. I hated that her job had her this way. She needed a break, a vacation even.

"A massage?," She seemed a bit shocked at my question, considering I never asked that before, "sure sweetie, I'd love one" She smiled as she set the food on the table, we talked and ate the food.

After dinner, I gave my mother a shoulder and foot massage. She immediately fell asleep, and I carried her to bed and got her comfortable. I decided to check her schedule to see if she had an off day, and she did. I was excited that she got to relax for once. After cleaning up and putting the food away, I took the Advil and went to my room.

I played some video games and then got startled by the sound of my phone, I instantly got butterflies and practically dived for my phone, just to get disappointed to see Mia text.

Mia 🙄: -Heyy crazy bitch, what are you up to-

Me🤪: -Playing on my Ps4, the hell do you want?-

Mia🙄: -Open the door bitch, it's cold and I'm hungry😟-

I got up from my bed and let mia in the house, she pounced on me and hugged me tight, "heyy girl, how ya been?." She asked with a big grin on her face, she didn't get to see me much due to work. My mom loved Mia's company whenever she came over, she was like another daughter to her.

"I've been good haha" I answered with a tiny smile on my face, missing my best friend. I gave her food and we talked in the kitchen.

"so...who's the girl?" She glanced at me with a smug look on her face.

I jolted a bit, and stuttered a bit, "W-what girl? T-there's no girl" I said nervously, looking around a bit.

"bitch, I'm not dumb, I know your gay ass, you have yourself a little crush, tell your bestie" She nudged my side a bit, raising her eyebrows at me, she won't let it go until I tell her, "She goes to your school right?" She asked as she slurped some noodles, Mia goes to a different school in order to stay close to her little brother.

"Okay Okay, her name is Ava Hunters, she's really cute but I don't know if she even feels the same way, what if she's straight? What if I get rejected again?" I say worriedly, overthinking once again.

"Angel sweetie, my sweet cinnamon roll. You are a tall glass of fine ass wine, if I wasn't straight and your bestie then I would've been smashed," I chuckled a bit and let her continue, "That ava girl is sure to like you back, especially with how you are, you are hot too. That Heart-wrenching slut back then was dumb as hell for rejecting you like that. This ava is definitely the one for you so don't worry." She reassured me with a pat on my back.

A few minutes later, Mia was knocked out asleep, I was still awake thinking many things, especially ava. I looked at my phone, wanting to text her but saw that it was pretty late, I sulked a bit but eventually went to sleep.
