Hollow and Flare made the slow climb back to the top of the abyss. Hollow occasionally complimenting Flare's "parkour skills". Flare would thank them and try to compliment her back, only to usually get just a chuckle in return.
Flare realized that Hollow would, at certain points, zone out and stare back down into the black pit. Flare would have to snap her out of it and continue jumping and climbing. They wondered quietly how long Hollow had been down there alone. They were deciding whether or not to ask. Eventually they decided that once again there was nothing better to do.
"So...Hollow...?" Flare started, realizing that she was once again starring off into space.
"Hollow." Flare said sternly.
"Oh! Oh..yes? What do you need?" Hollow snapped back to reality and hastily tried to see what she missed.
"..." Flare stared at her for a moment.
"Well I wanted to ask..how long were you down there?" Flare got out.
They were both now out of the abyss and making their way to the nearby station.
Hollow paused, thinking.
"I..." She seemed to think for a bit longer. "I don't quite know. I can't quite recall." She finally decided.
Flare stared at them once again, they felt sort of bad for asking now.
"Well I'm out now!" Hollow said cheerfully, Flare noted the quick attempt at mood change, though it wavered for a moment. "Come on. Let's go explore!"
With that, Hollow and Flare (mostly with Hollow dragging Fare) set off towards the station.
