SAILOR MOON X TMNT: TURTLES AND THE HARE

Act VIII: The New York Nightmare

Chapter 207:

The fiery phoenix soared through the blizzard, diving through the torrent of ice and snow with its beak open wide, aimed at devouring Dark Mercury. Large talons tore through the melting snow and infield dirt upon a touchdown that rocked the baseball diamond. The bird let out an ear-piercing squawk before lashing out at Beryl's converted guardian with a vicious snap.

"ABOMINABLE AURA!" Dark Mercury deflected the sharp beak away with her ice-sword just before it would have clipped her neck. She waved her sword at the beast, casting a chilly shock-wave that would freeze anything in its wake. Mars may have escaped, but she would pay for this atrocity. The magical avian flapped its wings in an attempt to flee, but the lethal freeze took hold, eradicating the flames coursing through its fiery feathers. Its long wings became weighed down with a heavy frost that spread throughout its entire body, slowing its movement to a standstill.

Corrupt Raphael stopped pummeling the vigilante for a moment to get a piece of the action. He leapt through the air and landed on the iced creature's back, wrapping his bicep tightly around its neck. The bird flailed about wildly to rid itself of the mutant, allowing Dark Mercury to charge forth with her sword.

The senshi emerged from a cloud of flurries and drove her magical weapon through its feathery breast with a grin of pure bloodlust. A painful shriek reverberated across the field after the phoenix sustained the fatal wound. Blood as hot as lava sprayed everywhere from the vicious stab. The ice blade slowly extinguished the flaming beast until he slumped lifelessly to the snow covered outfield grass. Raphael buried the tip of his sai deep into the frozen husk to ensure that it was indeed dead.

"Get out of here, girlie!" Casey Jones spat blood out of his mask after hip checking the possessed Yankee player clawing away at the blonde. He had taken some pretty rough beatings in the past, but never anything like what he had just suffered at the hands of his corrupted friend.

"Masked Man!" Venus could see that her love could barely stand on his own two feet, yet he had still come to her aid. It looked like he had used his last sap of strength to save her. The blimp was long gone, and a horde of zombies remained all around them. Despite that, Mars had provided her with some valuable time thanks to the gigantic phoenix. Her eyes scoured the field, looking for anywhere safe to hide until she finally spotted the only option of escape. "THIS WAY!"

Venus would not abandon the love of her life. They had just met, after all, and she would not lose him so soon. This romance story would not end in tragedy, even if they were in the middle of an apocalypse. She draped one of his muscular arms over her neck and dragged him towards a hole blown into the side of the Technodrome. His muscular body proved too heavy for her to support. They'd never make it in time. It was too far away and there were zombies everywhere.

Chapter 208:

A large group of concerned New Yorkers had gathered outside of the Channel 6 News Headquarters, watching the exclusive live footage provided by the station's star reporter, April O'Neil. Mamoru Chiba and Yuuichirou Kumada pushed themselves to the front of the crowd to catch a better glimpse of the action. The cats each sat atop a human's shoulder, their eyes glued to the massive screen displayed on the side of the building.

The city had apparently sustained yet another attack by the Shredder and his foot clan. A metal sphere that April referred to as the Technodrome had manifested in the middle of the field, disrupting the subway series. Purple garbed ninjas poured out of their base in droves, sapping energy away from players and fans alike. They met resistance when the Sailor Senshi intervened to save the day. The choppy footage and exciting commentary cut in and out, leaving the two men in a state of high-anxiety. Yuuichirou could not contain himself. His eyes widened every time his beloved Rei flashed across the screen in her red sailor suit and matching heels. Sweat poured down his forehead and his legs wobbled like noodles within his kimono. Artemis dug his claws through his garment to prevent himself from falling off the jumpy human. The priest wanted to help his beloved so badly, but he could do nothing from here. Neither could Mamoru nor the talking cats. All they could do was watch the Sailor senshi fight alongside these green monsters wielding ninja weapons that the attractive reporter called the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
