Hiura POV

I've started to notice a trend with Tanya. Even though we are both were reincarnated into this world from Tokyo Japan she has truly acts like this is all she has ever known. Even though her battalion sees her as someone to fear and obey without question I can tell she truly wants no part of this war. A part of me feels something more maybe special when I'm around her.

"Hiura, are you even paying attention" Tanya called out over to me

She had been explaining to me the national wartime law and that we had to announce our presence before for example launching an air strike on a city.

"Yea I'm listening Tanya" I responded

"Well you're not acting like it and tomorrow is going to be your first battle with us" she sighed and rolled her eyes before continuing

"I need you to make sure your on top of everything you've been taught since you're technically the captain of the battalion"

"Don't worry about me Tanya I can hold my own and you know that" I smirked

"That's the exact reason why I worry about you. I know you can hold your own which could cause you to underestimate our enemies... you've got to realize that this isn't Japan anymore you can really lose your life out there!" She exclaimed the last part

We had been having this conversation in the privacy of Tanya's bedroom in which I finally stood up from my sitting position on top of Tanya's bed and walked over to her position near the window that the moon poured it's dim moonlight through the shades

"Listen Tanya. I get that you're worried about me and I'm flattered because no one in my past life ever treated me like this, but I promise you that tomorrow no matter what happens I won't die and neither will you" I spoke gently as I embraced her

"Ok fine. Now let go of me you twerp" Tanya muttered

"You really want to stay like this then I guess" I giggled back

"I just told you to let go of me!" she shouted

"But you're not struggling plus your blushing and you always mean the opposite of what you say in moments like this Tsun tsun" I laughed

Tanya blushed even more after I teased her and finally pushed herself outside of my grasp and just got right in bed

"Tanyaaaa, you don't have to be shy-" I laughed

"GO TO SLEEP!" She yelled refusing to face my direction

"Aye aye captain" I laughed

I slipped into our bed and thought about how much closer we had gotten over the past 3 weeks

Three Weeks ago
Hiura POV

"Comrades! This is Hiura, she is a foreigner to this country from a distant island I expect that you will welcome her now that she will be fighting on our behalf in the war." Tanya shouted to the rest of the battalion from a platform

"Wow she really ended up joining"

"Did you see what she did to that company of republican mages?"

"Yea I heard that decapitated all of them in less then 5 seconds"

"Yea she might be able to go toe to toe with Major in a fight"

"She seemed possibly even stronger then her to me"

I heard all the murmurs of concern, excitement and even fear definitely fueled my pride and ego a bit which caused me and Tanya to get into a lot of fights

TWO WEEKS AGO

"Hiura you fell out of position again during flight training! Can you do anything right?!" Tanya yelled at me in her office after I had obviously messed up in training earlier. She had really begun to get on my nerves... always focusing on me and singling me out whenever I made a mistake when we practiced  bombardments or firing volleys . I was the only person other then Tanya to learn how to fight over 12,000 feet mainly due to the power I had gained from Lucifer

"Are you even Listening Hiura!?" She yelled at me

"Can you just shut up" I responded flatly

"What did you just say to me?" She spat out with her face scrunching up in anger

"Your yelling is annoying and obviously I've made some mistakes, but so have the rest of them and I don't see you yelling at them" I responded coldly

Before I realized she had thrown a punch directly aimed at my face. I reacted quick enough to dodge, but she had followed up her attack directed at my legs aiming to knock me off balance.

"Too slow Tanya!" I yelled and flipped into the air and landed over her tackling her into the ground.

"You piece of shit!" She cursed me as I held her down

"Well you're an even bigger piece of shit for trying sneak a hit in when I wasn't paying attention" I laughed as I let go of her and let her get back up

"Whatever. You were trained as an assassin you should be able to win in hand to hand combat you freak" she spat

"You always have an excuse for me when you lose let's see what your excuse is when I get more kills then you on the battlefield" I smirked at I mimicked gunfire and aimed my finger at Tanya

"Bang"

"What are you like 12" she laughed

"The same age as you shortie" I fired back at her

"I'm obviously mentally older then you and taller then you so it doesn't matter" she fired back at me

"By what metric? Your opinion?" I smirked and both shared a laugh

"You know what I think I can tolerate you" I said jokingly prodding Tanya in her side

"I personally can't tolerate you though" she barked back at me, but this time with a warm smile

Three Days Ago
Tanya POV

There must be something wrong with me. For some reason whenever I interact with Hiura it feels so much different then anyone else. She truly understands me more then anyone one else this world. It makes my heart tingle... God I must be sick or something. We have a Big mission tomorrow since we will be be dealing with the intruding Dakia . I will have to be in top shape and Hiura will have to step up as a captain of this Battalion though I'm sure she will. I just must be really tired yea that's it I'm going to just go to sleep. I'll have to suppress whatever these feelings are for now.
