Unexpected (part 5)
Staying at the tower was weird.
Well, Jason couldn't technically make that statement yet.
He's only stayed at the building for one night.
Plus, the only interaction he's ever had with any of the Avengers other than Clint was with Iron Man and Captain America and...
And that weird voice from the ceiling.
He forced himself to get up. The mattress was more comfortable than the ones in his safehouses.
The ones that had them anyways.
Oddly enough, these reminded Jason of the beds back in Wayne manor.
Jason walked to the bathroom, he can't have his first official day in the tower start with him looking like a snob.
Jason wrinkled his nose, Alfred would kill him.
His heart ached at the thought of the man he once called his grandfather. He didn't know what he expected.
Why would Alfred choose Jason, a street kid turned murderer over Bruce, the man he raised?
He tightened his grip on the sink. As he looked up, he saw his reflection in the mirror.
Startling, frightened, bright green eyes stared right back.
Jason might've seen them over a hundred times but they never failed to disturb him.
He hated them.
Growing up, his favorite color was green. It reminded him of that one day when him and his mom spent the day at the park. She was wearing a pretty green dress that made her face glow. It made her seem younger than she actually was.
Jason left the bathroom, shutting his eyes angrily, his favorite color was another thing his death took from him.
It was another thing the Joker took from him.
Jason hastily got dressed, walking straight to the kitchen to cook something-

He needed to get his mind off Alfred and Bruce, and just anything related to the Wayne's at all!
His breaths quickened and he forced his eyes to narrow. To focus on the scrambled eggs he was cooking.
A few minutes passed and Jason was still staring at the stove like a hawk. He just had to wait for about two more minutes and-
A hand grabbed his shoulder.
Without even thinking, he flipped them over his shoulder, a hand instantly wrapped around their throat and knee forcing them to stay on the ground.
It took Jason a second to register what the fuck just happened. When he glanced down, the first thing he noticed was the red hair sprawled across the floor.
There was only one Avenger that Jason knew of that had red hair.
Shit.
Immediately, he hurried off of the woman's body, making sure that his hands didn't touch certain assets.
It's bad enough that he practically judo-flipped one of the most lethal assassins he's heard of but if he accidentally touched anything, he would be dead.
Ten times over.
He would be so dead that not even the Lazarus Pit would be able to fix the damage.
Jason stretched out his hand, praying to whatever gods existed that Natasha Romanoff, THE Black Widow, would grab it...
