Try as he might, Jarik couldn't get a wink of sleep that night. Thoughts of what would happen to him here, if he'd ever finish the job, ever actually leave the planet, haunted him.

This behaviour was completely unlike him. Jarik was not a worrier by nature, not even a little bit. For something to be so nerve-racking that it kept him awake at night....

He shook off the thoughts. Instead, he swung his feet off the strange hovering bed, jumped down as quietly as he could, and headed out into the large living room.

Staring out the windows at the numerous passing hovercars and speeders, a slight smile formed on his face.
He finally knew how he was going to get out of here....

An hour and a half later, Jarik had made all the nessecary preparations for his escape. Thankfully, the General had not made it home yet, nor had Xista stirred from her sleep.

Security cameras weren't a problem; there simply were none on the inside of the apartment, although Jarik knew he'd simply gotten lucky this time.

Swinging a small pack of supplies he had found in the room he was staying, Jarik looked up and down the dark hallway for any passerby. Seeing none, he started walking down the hallway to where he had seen an air ventilation shaft above the kitchen counter.

After leaping up onto the counter, Jarik used the skills he'd had to quickly gain living on Nar Shaddaa to unscrew the ventilation shaft's cover.

Quietly placing it in a small space inside the shaft, Jarik took a final look around Xista's apartment, braced himself, and climbed carefully into the shaft.

Little did he know, someone had been watching him from the end of the hallway....
