it was new years eve and the whole 'daily debacles' group chat was in sabrina's new york apartment. they had just gotten back from a dinner at a fancy little restaurant and they were now going to watch the ball drop from sabrina's balcony. she had one of the best views of it in the city.
they had one tv set up to the side of the balcony with the ball dropping directly in front of them. will and sabrina had been dancing in her living room while the rest of their friends were in the kitchen making tiktoks. cherry by harry styles came on they were swaying slowly to the beat. will had his arms wrapped around sabrina's waist while she had her arms drooped around his neck. will began humming the song and sabrina smiled. she pulled him closer to her and laid her head on his chest.
"i notice that... there's a piece of you in how i dress. take it as a compliment," will softly sang. in that moment, sabrina realized a lot of things. she had realized that will was a harry stan. she realized will's heartbeat was slow in that moment. finally, she realized she officially had no more walls with will. he had broken every single one way faster than she thought he would.
"don't you call him baby. we're not talking lately. don't you call him what you used to call me," will continued. sabrina pulled away from will's chest and looked him in the eyes. his blue eyes were now her favorite eyes in the world. she felt like time slowed every time she looked into them. sabrina opened her mouth to speak but she was interrupted by noah.
"new years in two minutes! turn this slow music off!" the brown-haired boy exclaimed. he ran over to the speaker and paused the song while everyone else ran out to the balcony. sabrina and will both laughed at the crew's stupidity. the two made eye contact once more and sabrina opened her mouth again. the words she was trying to get out wouldn't leave her mouth. she shook her head and grabbed will's hand to lead him outside. he stayed rooted to his spot, causing sabrina's arm to stretch and face him again.
"what were you about to say just now?" will questioned. sabrina looked down at her feet.
"nothing. it's fine. let's go so we don't miss the ball drop," sabrina said in a not-so-convincing tone. will cocked his head as his tongue poked his cheek with a little smile on his face.
"you think way too loud. what's going on. tell me," will insisted. he grabbed sabrina's hand again and brought her closer to him. sabrina refused to look at him. he lifted sabrina's chin up and they made eye contact once more.
