Chenle thought that love was a complicated and difficult feeling. Of course, with its positives, but most of all being filled with suffering. A feeling in which it is easy to create misunderstandings, as a result of which the relationship will be damaged or even completely destroyed.
That's why he promised himself that, no matter what, he would never fall in love with Jisung.
It's not like he expected it to ever happen. But what was between them was a relationship Chenle had never experienced with anyone else. Jisung was more important to him than an ordinary friend, and in some ways even more important than a family member. He was someone with whom the older boy could be himself without worry. Therefore, Chenle avoided anything that might lead to the loss of Jisung.
However, as the years went on, his feelings for the taller grew even deeper. He didn't realize it, but the younger one was becoming his refuge, the person he always returned to, his little safe place. He was the first person he wanted to tell about what happened to him, whether it was positive or negative. He mentioned him in almost every conversation, he was able to find references to him in everything. However, it was developing gradually over time, and so Chenle didn't notice the small changes that were taking place in his behavior when it comes to the younger boy.
But now?
They were in Jisung's room. Only the two of them. The younger one offered them to spend one of their free days together to avoid boredom. Chenle obviously agreed to it, though it didn't happend without his teasing.
Before that, they had taken a walk together in the park, went for ice cream, a short bike ride and to the cinema. However, fate wanted that, of course, when buying the tickets, there was a mistake and the boys were forced to watch a movie, which they weren't in the mood for at that moment. It was a very sad movie and made both boys emotional, although the older one didn't show it, saying that he wasn't moved by it at all, and the younger boy was just too sensitive.
And despite the mistake, it was a nice day. Too nice to just end their meeting there. So they decided to play some games in Jisung's room, as it was closer.
At first, they started by playing video games, but then they realized that they played them too often and decided to spend their time playing cards, various board games and in the end even charades.
During the latter, when it was Chenle's turn to show and the taller one to guess, his answers were so ridiculous that, in the end, they caused enormous amusement to both boys.
It was four in the morning and they were lying on the floor, laughing way too hard.
Chenle had been too busy with his idol activities lately, which made him constantly tired and the positive things that had happened to him weren't enough to make him smile genuinely. So now, in this particular moment, he felt really happy for the first time in a long time.
The older one opened his eyes, which he had been forced to close earlier because of a too broad smile on his face. He was still laughing and turned his gaze to Jisung.
His hair was messed up in all directions, his eyes were half closed, his laughing mouth showed his teeth, and there were a few tiny drops of sweat on his forehead, probably caused by the room temperature. Even so, the younger one looked enchanting, flawless and breathtaking while laughing. At the sight of this, Chenle felt a warmth in his heart, and at the same time like something in his stomach was turning over.
After a short while, Jisung also turned to face the elder. His laughter slowly grew softer, allowing him to lift his eyelids wider.
They stared into each other's eyes. Chenle losing himself in Jisung's. And that was the moment when it finally hit him. He was screwed. In the end, he was unable to keep his promise to himself. But at that moment, he pushed aside the growing negative feelings within himself.
