The next evening arrived. Bruce got hardly any sleep, and even in his dreams, they were about the Riddler. Bruce sat up in his bed; he knew he had to step up his game if he wanted to catch him, but he still felt oddly about him. For some reason, he was excited about the next DVD that the Riddler would send him. Though Bruce still didn't know what the Riddler meant by how he knows how he feels about him, he was still curious. He wouldn't dare ask anyone about this, so he tried to figure it out on his own. Still in his bed, he began to think of people he knew, people he liked and disliked, his family, and the Riddler last. All of the people he thought of left him feeling normal, like how he always felt. When he thought of the Riddler, he thought more deeply into him. It was minor details that caught Bruce's attention, but most of all, it made fim feel hot in the face. He wasn't sure why, but he felt like it wasn't the best thing.
Bruce headed to the bathroom connected to his bedroom to wash his face with ice cold water from the aged tap. The heat on his face was getting to him and he wanted to try and get rid of it. Bruce closed his eyes and rubbed them with the cold water, along with the rest of his face. He felt tired, still, after a restless night, but at least he isn't hot anymore. After finishing in the bathroom, he left to go to his closet. It had clothes that all looked like they had been worn hundreds of times, yet they still smelled fresh and new. He put on clean clothes from the closet and left. Bruce headed out of his large bedroom and went toward the dining area. He walked down the stairway to his right to meet an empty room. Bruce didn't question why, he just left straight to the Bat Cave. During the elevator ride down to the Cave, Bruce zoned out thinking about the long night he has ahead of him protecting Gotham. Much sooner than expected, Bruce arrived at the Bat Cave. He left the elevator and went over to his suit. Silently, Bruce pulled on his mask to hide his secret identity.
The Batman was in control now, and he needed to protect his city from the dangers hidden within. The motorcycle was parked and ready to go, so he got on it and drove off into the city with the secret path he has underneath Wayne Manor. When he arrived into the depths of the city, he basically did what he does every night; he watches. The city is in constant movement, which has constant trouble. If he is to protect the city, he has to pay close attention. Often, he would stop small gas station robberies or muggings. He does what he can for the city, regardless of the intensity of the crime. Though, he still prioritizes some crimes over others. When the Bat Signal comes on, it's a sign. Batman will make his way to the light to see if Gordon had to tell him something, if there was a clue on his main mission, or if it was just to signal a larger crime happening in the vision from the lights vantage point. So when the signal came on, he made his way, as usual, to it. The motorcycle was waiting for him, as always, and he got on it and drove off in the direction of the Bat Signal.
When Batman arrived at the rundown unfinished building where the signal is, he went up to the floor where he always meets something. This time, it was a letter. It was addressed to 'The Batman' in the same messy handwriting that the Riddler has. Batman could feel his heart rate increase. He just now realized that he had temporarily forgotten about the Riddler. Batman walked silently, but quickly, to the note. He opened it without a hint of hesitation. Little did he know, the Riddler was actually watching from an unfinished floor above. The Riddler wants to see the bat's reaction to his letter in person.
As soon as Batman opened the letter he felt his heart race more. There was another hand written note with a plain DVD, his name written on the top in Sharpy with hearts around it. Batman took the DVD and put it in the same pocket he put the first DVD in and opened the note. It read: "Dear Bats, I have another special movie for you! Watch it when alone, nothing to worry about, just it's meant for your eyes specifically. I cannot wait for you to tell me what you thought of it! Love, The Riddler xoxo". Batman stood still and silent for a moment before realizing he was hot in the face again. He shook his head, let out a shaky sigh, and headed back out into the deep city of Gotham.
The Riddler was ecstatic with how the bat had reacted to his little note. He might not have shown a ton of emotion, but the Riddler knew how to read his obsession like an open book. He knew how he was feeling and how his video would make him feel. The psychotic master of riddles giggled in a gleeful way and left the area shortly after the Batman did. He was on his way home while imagining how the big bad bat would shiver and move in his seat after watching his video prepared for him. As seen as he reached his apartment, he was fully aware of the erotic way he felt. He hopped onto his bed, mind filled to the brim with the thoughts of Batman in ways no one else has ever seen before, and they were not the most safe for work thoughts either. Regardless, it had the Riddler giddy with excitement as he quickly unbuttoned his pants and slid them off, along with his boxers. He is fully exposed and is prepared to spend the next hour or two pleasing himself to the thought of the vigilante that the city knows, and somewhat-ish loves, as the Batman.
The Batman was still on his nightly schedule protecting Gotham. That didn't mean that his mind was elsewhere, though. It was still on the Riddlers note and the DVD prepared specially for him. He wasn't able to focus; a robbery happened right where he was watching and he hadn't even noticed. Maybe, he thought, he should head home early for the night. He knows that it's the wrong thing to do, but he knows that he can't work when he is this distracted, it is messing him up. Because of this, he got on his motorcycle and headed back to his home in the secret entrance built. When he arrived, he took out his special recording contacts to watch what had gone through the night in order to get a recap so he wouldn't forget. Watching, he saw the part where he got the note from the Riddler. He felt hot once again. He then realized he had missed a robbery right in front of his eyes and punched himself mentally because of it. He never messed up this bad, it was a good thing he got home early. For a moment, he wondered where Alfred was, until he remembered that he got home early, so he wouldn't be waiting for him. Batman took off his mask before the rest of his suit. He shook his hair and walked back over to his desk, messy eye makeup smudged all over his face by his eyes.
Bruce got the DVD player, once again, and plugged it in. He carefully took the DVD from his suit pocket and placed it in the player. Nervously, but excitedly, for some reason, he pressed play. The video started with another black screen, soon to be met with the Riddler appearing. "Hello again, Bats," Bruce shifted in his seat at the nickname again, "I am so glad that you are watching my little movie I for you." Bruce isn't sure he could resist not watching it. "You know, the truth is, I've got it pretty bad for you, bats," the Riddler got closer to the camera, "and I know you do for me as well. So let's keep it simple, I will keep giving you these sweet little videos as long as you write me a note telling me just what you thought of it, deal? You can just leave it right where I gave you this one each time." Bruce knows he isn't supposed to actually answer this, but he still said deal aloud. He isn't actually sure why he said that. He thinks this is a terrible idea, why should he be writing to a killer, a villain as a reply to videos? He shouldn't even be considering replying to them, but he just can't resist. That's when he realizes that the Riddler is correct. The bat has got it bad.
