"No, I won't do it."Ocha Nimiano was only 14 years old when her parents confronted her about an arranged marriage to the tribe leader's son. Born on the Pacific Island, Tonga, she was suddenly expected to marry Tusta, Son of the Tribe Leader. She was beautiful, with long brown hair, tan skin, and short, but her most attractive feature was her deep blue eyes. A rare gene that made her all the more beautiful, and all the more vulnerable. She was a cheeky girl with intelligence much beyond her years, and she was very good at coming up with cunning plans. She had been asked by multiple men for her hand in marriage, but to her relief, she was not yet of age. But there was another trait that made her vulnerable to danger: one she didn't even know about.
"But Tusta is a wonderful man; strong, attractive, and willing to accept you." Her mother replied. "Besides, who else is of age and willing to marry you?"
Ocha didn't need to think twice. The name appeared in her mind almost immediately; Bolt Jayden. The Australian had moved to their island with his family just 2 years earlier, but she had fallen for his features the day they met. His chestnut brown hair, his light skin, his speed and strength, and his soft brown eyes. He had admitted that he loved her, not to her face, of course. His sister, Lianna, had told Ocha of his fondness for her. She was sure she wanted to marry him, not some village leader jock.
"But, I don't want to marry Tusta, he's horrid!"
"You are to marry in 2 months and that's final!" Her father responded with a stern voice.
Ocha had lost the argument. "Yes, father."
But she already had a plan in her mind.
Later that day, Tusta approached her. She didn't at all want to see him, but he approached her with a smile on his face.
"Ocha! How are you, my sweet flower in the prettiest garden in all of Vatinia?"
"Fine, what did you just call me?"
"My sweet flower in the prettiest garden in all of Vatinia, why?"
"Well don't. Ever again. I don't want to marry you."
He chuckled then leaned up against her, looking mad. "You will marry me, whether you want to or not. And if you don't, well, I'll just have to, well, you know." He paused and chuckled. "And if you even think about trying to get out of this betrothal, I will get you. Ok?" He shook her vigorously.
"Ok, sir. Just, please, don't call me that. Not until we are married."
"He smiled a crooked smile. "Glad we can agree." And just like that, he left.
