i swim down all 1206 steps in a matter of seconds and just as my mum was about to yell me i stopped her by saying, 'what?'
'waverly about time' she said her voice turning a little sing- songy (her way of raising her voice as she despises shouting), " me and your father are about to leave. we packed out bags and i threw a seaweed stew in the shell for your supper and after today, the maids can make you your dinner.
'MOTHER! stop singing everything cant you just be NORMAL for once?!'i asked rolling my eyes.
'waverly how many times, STOP -deep breath- ROLLING - another really deep breath- THOSE BEAUTIFUL EYES AT ME- OH AND STOP MAKING ME YELL! or ill put you in the dungeons' she said the last part in a whisper while looking round to make sure my father wasnt near, if he heard her say that she'll be gone in the amount if time it takes a merman to throw a mermaid across all 5 ocean. i once told him about mother saying that but he didnt believe me, what a shock.

its been 4 hours since my mother and father left for british columbia and you know what- its about time i get out of here, ive been warming up to my parents for years so they would leave me alone i just want to go on land for an hour and they wont even let me do that. i run to my room and collect my favourite items: a lilac seashell necklace, which is made out of one of the rarest shells in the world; a crystal ball, which tells me where i am and how far i am from land; and my pet starfish, which i have had since i was 4.

'todays the day!' i scream
i run downstairs with my bags and slip in the ice, oh boy am i going to miss doing that every time im late. i tried to get up but i fell back down, dang - what a great way to start the day.
'NICK,JESSE HELP ME!' i scream, 'PLEASE GUYS IM IN PAIN!!'
in a series of flusters i hear jesse and nick's door open and they come down the stairs tiredly.
when they see me they dont even act surprised, 'god michel whyd u wake up so early and run outside again, its 4:30am!' nick sighed, checking his watch.
'no its not, your watch is wrong, remember?' jesse reminds nick,' its actually 2:38am, we went to sleep like 20 minutes ago.'
'oh- right.' sighs nick,' i really need to get the time fixed on my watch, dont i?'
i clear my throat,' i excited to move, i thought it was just dark and like 8 idk but can you STOP GAWPING and help my ass up, its freezing.'
'cant u get up? asks jesse, yawning.
'tried that' i reply, ' i think i sprained my ankle or something.
jesse and nick help me up, get the rest of our room mates and we all get into the car.
'we'll leave now if it stops you running out the house michel.' says nick.
'wooh!'i exclaim excitedly as i crawl into the car, trying not to put much pressure on my ankle

eventually i make it to land on somewhere nice looking, i try to stand up but im not sure how to get legs yet, idk if i even can. i choose a rock close to shore and i hide behind it trying to dry off wondering if it'll help me get legs. after a while i feel a sharp pain in my fin and pass out banging my head on the rock.

when we get there everyone goes to unpack right away but instead i go for a walk (limp) as i walk across the shore line admiring the sunset reflect into the ocean, i see a head behind a rock,
'hello?' i ask, walking closer to the rock, i notice blood coming from the side of a girls head, i run towards her and hold her head, holy shit its freezing and oozing blood!
'myke? dinner' i hear michael say.
'michael GET EVERYONE HERE ASAP WITH A FIRST AID KIT FAST!'
'why are you hurt mich-'
'JUST DO IT MICHAEL SAY ITS IMPORTANT AND TO BRING A TOWEL FAST!!'
micheal runs inside quickly not asking any more questions.
