Small bit that serves little/no plot relevance:
Mark was in Kindergarten when he met Cesar. After becoming close friends with him, weird stuff began to happen but he never made the connection. When in 4th grade, Cesar suddenly disappeared, Mark being the only one who knew what happened. Knowing his closest friend was now in homeschool, he mostly closed off from others, only making friends with Adam and Jonah. However, he wasn't as close as he was with Cesar. When he was about 12 he had an encounter with an alternate, he managed to escape with just a scar on his left eye, rendering him half blind. He can no longer open the eye and thus is more alert and defensive due to the injury.
Main Characters:
1. Mark Heathcliff:
- Story written from his point of view
- Emotionally distant to most everyone except Cesar
- Hoodies go brrrrr
- He needs a hug
2. Cesar Torres:
- Half-alternate
- Acts serious and a little rude to everyone till Mark is around lol
- Hates having to lie to Mark
- Only friend is Mark lmao
3. Gabriel:
- Trying to get Cesar to infect Mark with M.A.D
- Poses as Cesar's mother when company is around
- Neglectful of Cesar lmao
