You hadn't been punished afterwards. You didn't even have to justify yourself. Scaramouche didn't raise a hand at you nor did he verbally harassed you like he would do with any of his agents.

When you darted you eyes on him, all that you witnessed was an eering blankness radiating. Even wary to his attitude, you couldn't discern at all his feelings at this moment.

You didn't dare to say a single word as you quietly followed him throught the empty corridors. The atmosphere was heavy.

He wasn't leading you back to your cell neither. Little did you know for some reason he couldn't figure out Scaramouche didn't want to lock you down too far from him like he just did out of anger. Thus, for now he decided he will try too keep a keener eye on your doings to make sure you won't disobey any of his commands again.

Besides, in a cell, you were useless, and he had a long list of tasks to complete. So, after a secong though he decided he would rather assign you some paperwork to lighten his work.

Both of you entered a huge dark - toned room with many wooden desks. It was rather well decorated, lit by weak dawn sunrays that peeked throught the windows. You let your eyes wander around, noticing how furnished the room was, making it warmly welcoming. But its emptiness made you shiver.

Finally breaking the silence, the only words Scaramouche said was meant to clear up the work you had to complete by the end of the day. It sounded endless, you were used to it.

However, he didn't leave right away. Instead of leaving you to your exhausting programm, he unexpectedly layed a hand on your upper arm where dark marks adorned your bruised skin. You startled as you felt his cold hands brushing against the scars his violent electroshocs carved on it. He allow his thumb to wander on them as you winced from the soaring pain he was arrousing.

"If you want more of them, you know what to do."

This was a warning not to cross his boundaries anymore. Whether you are discret or not when you divert from his commands, he will end up noticing. Better hold your urges next time.

"Yes, sir."

With that he let you with yourself, trusting enough the effect his threatenings had on you. For now he needed time for himself to understand his actings.

You focused on your desk were laid a stack of papers concerning debts, loans, earnings, reports... It was kind of the same type of work you used to do back at the Jade Chamber : sticking to a chair with lines and lines to read and synthesize.

You were pretty good at this so it won't be very long. But you hated doing all of this for him, althought  it was the only way before you.

Always dying at work for people more important than you. You thought there would be another way out but it will remain as so for now. It seems like your glorious future had been stolen and now if you wanted to remain alive you just had to comply to someone else orders. You hated this situation from the bottom of your heart. Your fists clenched as you were struggling to keep your composure, unhealed anger issues making their way out of your mind.

Just, work.

You listened to this bossy voice inside your head. That would be better than your bottled up anger.

A few hours later, the sun rose higher in the sky. More people had come into the same room as you. You reconized some of your teamates you politely greeted but you didn't pay attention to them much longer. You were rather more focused on your work. You assumed they knew too how much it was risky to get late on it.
