Clutching my hands into fists at my side I entered a place called "The Grill" my vision blurs together smelling blood everywhere. A guy with blonde hair stepped up to me wearing a work outfit. "Hi I'm Matt. What would you like to have?" I feel veins appear under my eyes and I about grabbed his neck until someone grabbed my arm dragging me into a bathroom. The person locked the door as I revealed my fangs to them. "Who the hell are you!" My eyes see it's a girl with blonde hair that has some waves in it. She slowly breathed out reaching into her purse on her shoulder pulling out a bag of blood. "Hi my name is Caroline Forbes and I am a good vampire. First lesson for a newbie vampire, don't drink from the locals. I didn't know what type you like so I brought you my favorite."

"I'm Y/n, how do you know I'm a vampire?" I asked slowly drinking from the bag finishing it quickly releasing a moan at the taste. She pulled out another bag that I ripped open sucking it quickly. "You're lover Klaus called me. He said you should have someone teach you. And don't get hooked on that blood. I only grabbed two from the hospital." I knit my eyebrows together lowering the bag. "Hospital, what's that?" She brushes hair from her eyes recognition on her face. "Right, you're from the royal era...Basically it's a place where people who are sick go to get help." I nodded knowing that she'll have to teach me a lot of new things. But her demeanor reminds me so much of Brooke.

We left the grill strolling through the streets the sun is bright and the wind softly blows. Tilting my head forward as we walk I catch the sight of a ring on her left hand. I've never seen Nik or any of the Mikaelson's wear one. "What's that for?" Caroline lifted her left hand showing off the ring explaining. "It's a daylight ring. If vampires don't wear it we burn in the sun. I don't understand how you don't have to wear one." I shrug my shoulders remembering that I am in Nik's bloodline. So maybe because I was turned by an Original means I didn't need it. For most of the day we just talked and went shopping until we entered a store feeling eyes watching me. "Hey doll, can I take you out to dinner?" A boy with brown curly hair stands too close for my liking. Caroline tried to interven but I grab her wrist making her wince. Bawling my other hand into a fist turning his hair into a soaking mess. He tried to fix it as Caroline drags me outside vamping us at the front door of the Mikaelson's mansion.

"How did you mess up his hair like that. Vampires don't have magic?" She blurted out in question resting her hands on my shoulders searching my face for an answer. "I have no clue. I mean my grandmother said she was a witch - and my best friend but - but they're didn't have their own..." Running my fingers through my hair I groaned in frustration stomping around until the front door opened and a girl with black curly hair grabbed my hand dragging me inside. Caroline vamped after us seeing some lit candles in a circle with Nik and Elijah standing around a table. "Nik, Lijah, what's going on?" I mumbled feeling my mind is spinning into a headache over all these new things happening all at once. "Y/n, my name is Bonnie. I need you to draw some blood for me for a spell." Nik pulled out a small blade handing it to me so I slowly cut my hand dripping blood into a glass. Elijah sits a glass of someone else's blood beside it. The Bonnie girl closes her eyes chanting a foreign language like I heard my grandmother did, making me take a few steps back. "It's alright love. She won't hurt you." Nik reassures me before she stopped gasping, her eyes shifted to Elijah parting her lips in shock.

Nik slowly walked over to the witch eyeing the blood that had mixed together on the table then to her. "What is it Bennett?" Whipping my head towards her I blurted out remembering that name clearly. "Bennett?" Bonnie nodded pointing her index finger at me then opening that achent book from long ago. "You're theory was right. She is connected to the Tames family. Her and Brooke are actually cousins. So she shares the gift of magic." Caroline shakes her head throwing her hands up cutting her off. "But I thought vampire's can't have magic. Witches lose their powers don't they?" Bonnie nodded holding her hand out for me instructing. "Try and light that candle. Say Incendia." I gulped slightly nervous but put my hand in hers turning my hand red mumbling the word. "Incendia." One candle wasn't lit at first but a second later a flame appeared.

"Bonnie, what does this mean?" Caroline crossed her arms over her chest eyeing her childhood friend. Nik rounds the table draping an arm over my shoulder seeing me shaking a little. Grandma was right that my mother lied to me. I wrap my arms around his waist burying my face in the scent of his grey long sleeve shirt. Elijah closed the book handing it to the witch speaking out. "The page should be marked. It would be very appreciated if you could read up on this." She holds the book to her chest nodding walking up to me slowly replying. "I only know the name of the type of witch you are. You're a Siphon." Nik sits me on the bed brushing hair behind my ear, bending on his knees in front of me. I feel tears falling down my face when he wipes them away with his thumbs. "I'm a freak, Nik - I can't be a vampire and  - a witch!" He rests a finger to my lips kissing my forehead. "I'll still love you, princess. You're like me." Blinking my eyes a couple times I stopped playing with his dog tags chain around his neck, never imagining he would be the first one to say it. "You love me?"
