I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m sitting at a McDonald’s in London with my suitcase and a vanilla shake. I just swallowed a McChicken and a medium fry and all this thinking is making me want more.

I pull out my phone, 5 missed calls and a few texts. Two missed calls from my dad and Scott and one from Parker, then three texts from my dad:

From Dad: Hey hun, just checking in. Have you landed?

From Dad: Call me when you can please to let me know you’re alright.

From Dad: Okay last one, just please call me or just text if you want to let me know you’re okay, that works too. Love you.

I send a quick reply that I’m alright.

It’s going on 7:30, that means the game got over a half an hour ago. I suppose I could go back to Harry’s house and try to get him to open the door? I could yell ‘It’s Skylar’ and maybe he’d hear me?

“Skylar?” I hear a voice behind me. The hair on the back of my neck stand straight up as I spin around.

“Niall?”

“What are you doing here?” he asks me.

I’m too shocked to speak, I wasn’t expecting him to walk in.

“Skylar? Are you alright? Does Harry know you’re here?”

“No, I’ve been trying to tell him all day. I flew over here because… because I, I-“

“I know. You love him.”

I nod. He sat down and I told him everything. From how I didn’t want to end up alone so I got back with Parker, then I didn’t know they were leaving, then me realizing how much Harry is worth all the bad stuff, then me flying over and talking to Claire, to Googling his address and going to all these wrong houses, then finally finding it but he wasn’t home. I told him about the girls and how they said he would be at the event, then about me sneaking in. “But he was drunk so I dressed up as the mascot so I could get let in and try to talk to him but then the guy told me to cheer, and then you wanted the picture, and then I had to dance with the kids, and then they made me switch and I got thrown out. So I just came here to get something to eat and determine the reason of my existence.”

“Wow… So YOU were the one who I had hold me?”

“Really? That’s what you got out of all of that?”

“No wonder you almost dropped me, I was almost offended at first but I didn’t know it was a girl. No offense.”

“None taken.”

“I can’t believe you’ve gone through all of that just to talk to Harry.”

I shrugged, “I screwed up. I had the perfect opportunity, given to me millions of times back in LA and I shoved it away over and over again. This is what I deserve.”

“I disagree. Come with me, I have an idea.” He stood up and walked up to the cashier.

“How’s she going to help?” I asked him.

“She isn’t, I’m hungry. We’ll go after I get my food.”

“You’re so small, how can you eat so much?” I ask him in his car as he mows on his second Big Mac. He’s already eaten a large fry and an entire shake and half of his soda.

“Beats me,” he says with his mouth full.

We finally pull back up to Harry’s house as he finishes his meal and throws on a long brunette wig.
