Personality: Essen has been noted to be one of the most moody and dark Shipgirls on base. But a couple of years ago, she was a skittish and bright girl, after the bombardment of Kiel in May of 1944 (when she was nearly killed by an ammo detonation), she was reduced to a broken and shattered ghost of her former self, thus making herself into what she is today
