"Beep", beep, beep"
I awoke to the sound of my alarm going off beside me. Sitting up, I wiped my lip from slobber and scratched my head. I looked at the time and it read "7:30 am". I then looked at my calendar to make sure it was a school day. It said that it was Tuesday. I groaned, kinda hoping that when I woke up, it would be Saturday.
I jumped out of bed and took out my uniform for school, laying it on my bed. I walked to my bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror above the sink. I grabbed my toothbrush and started to brush my teeth. I did my quick school skincare routine and then took a nice warm shower, getting dressed afterwards.
After my morning routine, I ran downstairs to hurry and eat breakfast. I didn't really have enough time so I had to hurry before I'd be late.
I went into the kitchen, seeing my mom getting ready for work. She was more in a hurry than every other morning which meant she had a new important case.
"Hon, you'll have to eat cereal for breakfast. They had just called me in for a new case regarding a missing school girl. Please make sure after school you come straight home. Don't be alone. Ask one of the boys to walk you home ok?" She said in a hurry.
I was going to object but she kissed me on the cheek and said "bye dear", running out the door for work.
I sighed, stressed because I was in deep shit now.
I'll ask since my mom is very serious about things like these.
She's been a detective since she and my father had gotten married. She studied and went to college for a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology, criminology, and sociology. Hard working, my mother was.
She and my father had met in college when they were both studying for some of the same things in a kinda same field.
My father was studying forensics, medical science, and biology. There were 3 jobs he would want and he ended up with the study of Earth.
Anywho, they met because of their huge interests in intelligent minds. Though my mother wasn't as intelligent as him, he fell for her because of her witty personality.
When she became a mother and lost her husband only 5 years later, she kinda fell off the train for a while, leaving me with my grandmother all the time to try and bring her brain back to focus.
I understood at a young age and soon started to become just as intelligent as my father. She saw that and had hope which meant a lot to both of us. Soon we got back on track together, finally understanding that all we needed was support and love just to move forward.
That is why I agreed to her marriage with Mr. Bang. She needed more of that support and love and I understood.
Anyways, no more rambling in my mind.
I went to the sink and grabbed a cup, filling it with lukewarm water.
I walked to the basement door and opened it to see the dark and scary underground room, with a very interesting green light glowing.
I turned on the light and walked down the stairs slowly. When I made it to the bottom of the steps, I looked to the side to see the giant egg I've been hiding for years.
It glowed and glowed as I looked at it. I walked closer to it slowly, seeing the human-like figure curled into a ball, sleeping.
I looked at the branches holding it, keeping it alive. I watered those branches hoping I was doing a good job with this egg.
You remember the styrofoam box my father gave me years back that had a glowing light right? Well, come to find out, it was a small egg, pebble sized. I had found my father's study journals in his office when my mother was throwing out his stuff.
