Sunshine and shadows

Intro

This is just the introductory page to this book, which I will add to every time I either think of something to say, win an award or want to thank yet another person who's made this book the way it is today.

Content Warnings: mild mentions of death, violence, and war. I'll be putting warnings at the beginning of chapters where it is required.

So, many of you must have wondered why you even need to vote for books. I mean, isn't it enough that you're reading this person's stories? Now you need to remember to vote as well??

Here's the thing, Wattpad uses votes as part of its mysterious algorithm for determining rankings on the hot list. Votes tell Wattpad you liked the content on that page, which means someone else might like that too!

Secondly, Wattpad doesn't show notifications of when someone reads a story, which means even if you click through those pages, I only see the numbers rise, not who makes them rise. But if you vote, I get notified and I can thank you properly.

And lastly, votes, like comments, are like greater proof that someone is genuinely interested in the story and is sort of like that like button on insta. It means people like what I post enough to even vote on it. 

So I'll be putting cute little notes at the end of each chapter to remind you to vote, in case you mean to vote but are so enraptured by the story that you forget :)
