Blue Eyes [Taegi]

Excerpt: About a boy named Taehyung who has an intense hatred and envy for his own brother Yoongi.

A few years ago, in a small town in Korea, there lived two brothers named Taehyung and Yoongi. Taehyung was 16 years old and Yoongi was 17. Their parents believed they had the perfect family. They lived in a large house, they owned two cars, they were comfortable financially and they had two beautiful sons. The parents could not have felt better about life, but they were completely unaware of a serious problem that would tear the family apart. Taehyung intensely hated his brother Yoongi.

The reason Taehyung hated his brother was that he believed Yoongi was more beautiful than him. No matter how many times people told Taehyung he was pretty, he would never believe it. Whenever he looked in the mirror, he felt extremely ugly. And whenever he looked at Yoongi, he saw everything he wanted to be.

Yoongi had beautiful, straight blond hair. He had an attractive figure and never needed to diet. He had perfect skin and never needed to wear makeup. But there was something Taehyung envied more than anything else about Yoongi. It was his beautiful blue eyes.

Yoongi was very popular with the girls at school. Whenever he walked by, they would whistle and it seemed as if every girl in the school wanted to date him. They always complimented him on his beautiful blue eyes. All of the popular boys in school wanted to hang around with Yoongi.

Over time, Taehyung’s envy grew worse and worse. He became obsessed with his brother’s eyes.

One afternoon, sitting alone in his room, Taehyung began brooding about his brother’s good looks. As he stared at himself in the mirror, he wished that there was something he could do to destroy Yoongi. Taehyung’s unbridled envy had driven him over the edge of madness and, in his rage, he wanted to ruin the life of his brother. With chilling coldness, Taehyung devised a crazed and depraved plan.

While Taehyung was brooding alone in his room, Yoongi was with his friends, hanging out at the local mall. He was blissfully unaware of what his younger brother was planning.

The next evening, Taehyung’s parents went out to the theater together, leaving their deranged son alone in the house. He decided that it was the perfect opportunity to put his devious plan into acion.

Taehyung waited until 10PM, when his brother arrived home. Yoongi was in good spirits and everything seemed normal as he entered the house and walked upstairs to his bedroom. When he opened the door, he noticed something strange. The framed photograph of himself that he kept on his dressing table was lying shattered on the floor.

Suddenly, he got a phonecall. Looking at the screen of his iPhone, he saw it was from a private number. When he answered the call, he heard a voice hissing threats on the other end. The person said they wanted to rip out Yoongi’s blue eyes and disembowel him.

“Come outside! Come outside!”, hissed the voice.

Yoongi recognized the voice. It was Taehyung.

Yoongi ran downstairs and opened the front door. What he saw outside made him lose all his senses. The dead body of his brother Taehyung was hanging by the neck from a tree. His stomach had been slit open and his guts were spilling out. His dead eyes were staring straight at Yoongi.

The scene was so awful that Yoongi ripped his own eyes out so that he wouldn’t have to look at it anymore. Taehyung's insane plan had worked. He got exactly what he wanted. In his madness, he had killed himself in the most horrible and disturbing way he could imagine in order to destroy his brother’s beauty. Yoongi had lost the most beautiful thing he had – his eyes.
