My alarm clock woke me. I sit up, letting it continue to ring. "Jesus Christ! Turn it off!",  Bean yelled walking to me. She was wearing my mom's apron and held a spatula.

"What the hell are you doin'?", I laugh. I pull off my cover and slide out of bed. "My Mom really let you wear her apron?"

"No, I borrowed it since she's at work. Duh," Bean says seriously. She was like that all the time. She might seem like she's mean, but she's really not. At least to Roxy and me.

"Where's Roxy?", I ask. If Bean is around, Roxy isn't to far behind. It was also like all the time. I mean, they are neighbors , so if Bean is coming over to my house, Roxy is too.

"She's makin' waffles! I'm was makin's scrambled eggs, but you interrupted me with your alarm. Thanks by the way," she says blankly looking around my room.

My room was bland. It had white walls and one wall window. A single desk and my king sized bed. Guess what color!? White. And one single picture with my parents, brother, and me.

My parents divorced last year and my brother went to engineering college. Since then, it was only Mom and me. Of course I can't really complain. Roxy doesn't even have a mom. She just up and left one day.

"Oh shit! My eggs!", she screams as she runs to the kitchen. She was very careless. Always has been.

"Watch your mouth!", I yell as I chuckle. I close the door and change into a mint green flows tank top, white capris, and my favorite flip flops. They are black with a bow on the strap.

I exit my room to see the two girls coughing. I grown and grab the fire extinguisher we had mounted on the wall. Mom put it there after Bean caught fire to grilled cheese one day. How? I have no clue.

"Do you know what today is!?", Roxy screeches as I arrived spraying the foam all over the kitchen nonchalantly.

"What? National catch-your-friends-house-on-fire day?" , I ask putting the extinguisher down. Third time this month I had to do this. Great, just great.

"No! That's on the 23rd," Bean says scrapping the charred egg remains into the disposal.

"Well, we will just go to your house then," I say grabbing some plates for the only decent food Roxy ever made.

"The A-Game Beta version comes out today," Roxy says matter of factly as she chews on the waffle.

I nearly joke as I realized that today was the 19th of March. The day the best game in history was going to be released. The A-Game. It was a virtual world where you were in the current military. Except, it feels like you are actually in the game.

"What!? And you didn't remind me!?", my voice echoes as I jump up running to the bathroom to fix my hair.

"Why do you think we are here!?", Bean counters back from the kitchen, which is down the hall.

"I don't know!", I yell as I put on my headband, even though my hair was in a ponytail. I walk to them and they were ready to get the game.

Roxy wore a navy blue dress and white Mary Jane's while Bean wore a yellow v-neck tee shirt, high waisted shorts, and black keds. They always had distinct styles while I always changed mine. At some point, I was even Punk.

"Ready?" I ask as I grabbed my wallet. We were going to the best game store. I spent most of my summer there. Video games are what caused us 3 to be best friends.

We walk for 10 minutes or so when we finally arrive to the store, which isn't packed. I guess we were the only ones counting. We are hardcore fans of Masterson Inc.

We buy the game and three virtual helmets. In total, it was $550. Mom will be ticked that I didn't save the money for college or something. She was always so hetic about that stuff. Dad was always so chill about it. He thought I was smart enough for a scholarship.

We get home and hook up the virtual helmets and put in the game. "You two ready?" I ask getting on the couch. I'll be stiff if I sat on the floor or some other chair.

"You know it," Bean says slipping on the helmet. Roxy shortly following. Then me. I was then thrown into a Virtual Reality.
