Vanitas POV:
"I was scared..."
I knew it...he thought averting his eyes
Why did he have to act so recklessly all the time? Maybe it was for the best that she was afraid of him,maybe...

"But I wasn't scared of you" Jeanne said as she got a hold of Vanitas's chin making him look at her
"I was scared for you!"
"What?" He asked

"I was scared... what if something were to happen to you?what if lost you...just like I lost my parents..."
Now it was her turn to look away

"Jeanne I-"
"Back then I couldn't do anything to protect the ones I cared about!"
She clenched her fists in her lap
"Back then I was weak! But now... I want to protect the ones I cherish that's why I became stronger,I don't want to experience that pain again"

Vanitas was speechless
The ones she cherishes?
Did that include him?

Jeanne was looking down,the soft light caressing her cheeks,and he felt like her eyes were now sparkling more than ever
She looks like a dream...

Vanitas was carefully admiring her,his hand taking hers
"Do you really mean that?"
His heart was racing as he waited for her response

Jeanne looked at Vanitas,realising what she said,and her cheeks flushed. After a few seconds of silence she nodded still not looking at him.
She's so adorable...

He couldn't believe it.
He didn't deserve her...but he was surely not gonna give her to anyone else.
Vanitas ntertwined their fingers once again,and he couldn't help but smile when he saw that Jeanne didn't shake his hand away
This warm feeling... wasn't so bad

Jeanne POV:
AHH WHAT DO I DO??
I accidentally told him that I cherish him
Didn't he say that he hates people who love him?
BUT THEN WHY DID HE TAKE MY HAND

Jeanne felt nauseous to her stomach. What if she didn't want to see her anymore?
But from the looks of it Vanitas looked...alright? Happy even

The vampire noticed the little smile that formed on his face.
This gave her some courage.

She took a deep breath
Come on out with it!
"Let's go on a date"
Vanitas turned his body so that he was fully facing her

"Date?"
She nodded
"Pf- hahahahahah"
"Eh?"
Why was he laughing?

"Jeanne...is this another one of your dates where you're trying to make me hate you? If I recall correctly last time you quite failed"

"That's not..."
He started chuckling
"Be honest with me Jea-"
"ITS NOT LIKE THAT!"

Now she was truly angry, did he really think she still hated him? After she practically confessed?
She let go of his hand

"I don't want ...you to hate me,at that time I thought that it was for the best. But that's not what I desire right now"
The opposite actually

She looked at him expectantly...what if he doesn't want to
I should've kept my mouth shut

"Alright"
"Huh"
"Let's go on a date Jeanne,this time...you're not plotting something else are you?" He grinned getting closer to her face

If possible he looked even happier than before
So he wasn't upset? Well that's a good start

"I told you I'm not!" Jeanne pouted
"Alright alright,I also confirmed something that I was curious about"
He said as he got up offering a hand to help Jeanne as well

"Hm? What would that be?"she asked as she took his hand
"That's a secret" he smiled back at her as they both started walking back

"Shall we go on this date right now?
The others are still probably celebrating,and I don't feel like getting into a drinking contest with Dante, as I am a very light drinker"

"Is it really alright? What about master Luca?"
"It's gonna be fine,he's with Noe! And besides..."
He got closer,so close that Jeanne could feel his breath on her ear

"It's you who took the initiative of this date,so no complains my lady" He whispered in her ear
That got a blush from Jeanne and Vanitas couldn't help but laugh

"You are incredible!" Jeanne said as she went on ahead
"Only for you ...hey Jeanne wait up you're hurting me! I am already a wounded man!"

Can't he take anything seriously? She thought
Jeanne smiled as she boldly intertwined their arms
She noticed Vanitas flinched a little but he quickly got his composure back

Love can do impressive things to a person
This man who's guts she hated until a few months ago,was now able to cheer her up with only his presence
