Several months later

Carina sighed softly as Maya helped her into a chair. "I can move around on my own Bella."

"I know but I want to help." Maya said.

The Italian woman smiled warmly. "I love you."

"I love you too." Maya said.

Shifting, Carina winces slightly.

Maya kisses the top of Carina's head.

Looking up at her, Carina connects their lips together.

Maya kissed her back.

The brunette instantly deepens the kiss.

Maya cupped Carina's cheek.

A soft moan escaped Carina.

Maya moaned in response.

Their kiss was quickly growing heated.

Maya pulled Carina closer.

Moaning, Carina tilts her head to the side.

Maya tangled her fingers through Carina's hair.

Carina deepens the kiss even more, gripping Maya's hips.

Maya moaned softly.

After a moment, Carina pulls away and winces slightly.

"Do you need your pain meds?" Maya asked.

Sighing, Carina nods her head. She hated the pain meds.

Maya left to go get the pain meds.

Leaning back, Carina closes her eyes.

Maya returned with the meds and a glass of water.

Carina's eyes were still shut.

"Carina?" Maya asked softly.

Opening her eyes, Carina looked up at her. "Yeah?" she asks weakly.

"Here." Maya said, holding the water and painkillers out to Carina.

Taking them, Carina puts the pills in her mouth before swallowing them down with some water.

"They'll kick in soon." Maya said.

Nodding her head, Carina leans her head back. "We should get a dog."

"A dog?" Maya asked.

"Yes." Carina responds softly.

"What kind of dog?" Maya asked.

Carina shrugs. "Doesn't matter."

"We'll go down to the shelter when you're feeling a bit better." Maya said.

Carina nods her head. "Okay."

Maya smiled softly and kissed Carina's head.

Curling into her, Carina sighs softly.

Maya wrapped her arms around Carina.

"Ti amo." Carina mumbles softly.

"I love you too." Maya said.

The brunette was beginning to fall asleep.

Maya sighed and closed her eyes.

"You seem stressed Bella." Carina mumbles tiredly.

"I'm fine." Maya said.

Curling closer to her, Carina winces slightly. "Can we move to the bed?"

Maya nodded. "Of course."

Slowly, Carina attempts to get up.

Maya helped Carina up and they made their way to their bed.

The Italian lays down and curls into Maya's side.

Maya wrapped her arms around Carina.

Carina was slowly starting to drift off.

Maya stayed awake, her thoughts on getting the dog like Carina wants. She thought about which type of dog would suit them best and where they might get one.

Carina shifts in her sleep, a pained groan escaping her.

Maya turned her head to look at Carina.

The brunette relaxes after a moment.

Maya gently wrapped her arms around Carina and rubbed her back.

A soft sigh escapes the sleeping Italian.

"I love you." Maya whispered.

Carina grips onto Maya's shirt in her sleep.

Maya smiled.
