I pulled a Cherry pie out of the oven since I made it for Dinner.
I didn't hear the front door open or close.
"Something smells amazing."
I looked over to the Kitchen doorway.
It was my husband, Kevin who is a Detective with Boston PD.
"Hey. You're home early."
He leaned against the Dining Room doorway.
"Oh, you're killing me." Kevin commented, smiling.
He was loosening his tie as he came into the Kitchen.
"How was your day?"
"Tiring, sweaty, hot, horrible."
Kevin took my arms, wrapping his arms around me.
"Lovely."
He handed me a jewelry box, letting go of me.
"What's this for?"
"What's it for? I need an excuse to give my Wife a gift?"
I opened the jewelry box.
It was a pyramid necklace.
"It's beautiful. Thank you."
"You like it?"
I took it out of the box, holding it in my hand.
"Yeah. It's really gorgeous."
"May I?"
"Of course."
Kevin took it from me.
I moved my hair out of his way.
I pulled the necklace off my throat as Kevin clasped it around my neck for me.
We were sitting at the Dining Room table.
We were eating.
"This is the best pie I've ever tasted." He gave me his opinion.
I got the Cherry pie recipe from our neighbor, the Feldmans.
"Yeah? It's a new recipe." I told Kevin.
"It's so good. So good."
I was finished eating.
It looked like he was done eating too.
"Thank you."
I got up out of my chair.
"Are you done with this?"
"Yeah."
I grabbed mine and Kevin's plate.
I also grabbed the bottle of Wine.
I thought he was done with it.
I walked into the Kitchen.
"You think I'm done with that?" Kevin questioned.
I put the plates in the sink.
I paused in the Kitchen as I went to put the bottle of Wine on the counter.
"No. I was just... Coming to pour you some more." I lied to him.
I poured more Wine into Kevin's Wine glass.
I had turned my back to him to put the bottle of Wine on the alcohol cart in the Dining Room.
"You want to say something, you say it." Kevin told me.
