So, insomnia's a b—h. Except for the fact that it had now given Shoto an answer for how to reveal an important secret. In the form of a conspiracy theory video.

But just before he could begin planning, he began to ponder something else. Was this fair to Midoriya?

Midoriya was always thinking about everybody else. Going on from that, it's oh so obvious to Shoto that he's just worried about the public. Not to worry, Shoto's on the case!

With that, he started the grueling task of compiling information. It was surprisingly hard to be restricted to public knowledge when you're trying to reveal to the world that your best friend is All Might's Secret Love Child™. At about 1am, he googled: parental all might.

He scrolled down until about halfway when he spotted a link named "'Dad Might' tag on Ao...". As soon as he saw the word 'Dad' Shoto clicked, faster than you can say 2-A.

Oh

Oh ... fanfiction.

Now. What he was about to do was going to cause severe mental crises for major players across the board. Did he know this? No. Would he care if he did? No. Moving on.

Shoto had heard of the term from Ashido before, but he never really thought about it. Thoughtlessly, he picked the first fic and started to read.

And Shoto was enamored.

Sure, it was with an OC, but it was still a delightful read. It was popular too. The way the words float off the page and nestle their way into your mind's eye. Forget conspiracy videos this had Shoto's name all over it. Fanfictions seemed to have an absurd amount of influence anyway.

Completely forgetting that he can't express and therefore write for s—t, Shoto opened a Word document... aaand then realized he can't, in fact, legitimately write for s—t after he stopped to re-read his paragraph.

Well , he supposed, it couldn't hurt to do some research.

On that note he dived into the colorful two weeklong...ah...for lack of better word... obsession. Look, it's not Shoto's fault the characters are too in depth and the stories are dangerously compelling, he's just telling it like it is! A fact! Though all in all, the obsession period had been particularly useful...as he now knew of the existence of FLUFF!

What is fluff? Oh nothing special, it just so happened that feeling in your chest when witnessing All Might asking Midoriya to eat lunch with him. Shoto was wondering what that feeling was. Doing his best to capture that atmosphere, he set to work.

And came out realizing that his work was really stale. He started to reflect, and realized that the authors usually put in their own emotions. The problem was that he was very apathetic towards these things. So what could he do?

Well...now that he thinks about it, authors disguise their feelings as their character's. So all he needed now was to insert the character's feelings into the overall tone. Feeling satisfied with himself, Shoto rewrote his paragraph.

. . .

Ochako definitely did not expect to get so active in fandoms (therefore fan-fic sites). Now don't get her wrong, she understands why some would shy away. She had seen some...spicy things during her stay, ( cough they are literally 15/16 year-olds stop writing disgusting physical...romance cough ) but fannon is rich in stories and character development.

Just ask Mina. She dragged Ochako into this.

Is Ochako going to blame Mina for being the reason why she's up at 3am looking for the fluffiest fics ever? Why yes, yes she is. The pink menace threatened to shove one of her horns up her a—if she didn't read the romance fic Mina recommended her.
