You decided to ignore the car for now, maybe you could lose it. You were sure as hell going to try. Ducking into alleyway after alleyway. There was no way that van could stay on your tail. But that wasn't your only problem. Why would that bastard hire people to survey you if they were shit at it?
You made your way to a nearby rooftop. "I know you're there, just face me already." You called out.
"Aw man, I thought I was being stealthy," Charge Bolt said, making his way onto the roof. "I guess I have to fight you now."
"Technically you don't have to, but I'm not just going to let you follow me anymore."
"Fair," he began sparking as he got closer to you.
You burst into flames, "make it quick, I have places to be."
"Sorry but I guess you'll need to let them know you're not coming," he said, lunging towards you.
You dodged quite easily, not enjoying the cry of pain as your flames consumed him. He was not as prepared as you hoped he might be. Why couldn't Shoto have sent a sidekick? Someone with a flame quirk, maybe even just an immunity, you were so tired of the screams. But you couldn't afford to hesitate right now.
Charge Bolt riled around on the ground trying to pull himself out but you only produced more flames. He sent electricity toward you but he was inconsistent. "I knew I was right when I said you were villainous." His voice was weak.
"Should've trusted your gut." You said, slamming your boot onto his head, leaving him limp on the ground.
The guilt was killing you but you kept going, he would be fine, maybe need to regrow his eyebrows, but fine. Somebody would come to help him. It would be alright. You needed to meet with Miyuki, that's what was important right now. You made yourself scarce, blending in with the shadows to the best of your ability. Your costume did not help with this.
By some miracle, you made it to the meet-up point. Miyuki was waiting for you on a park bench. You threw the folder at her and you were ready to keep going when she stopped you. "Hold it, I need to make sure these are legitimate before you go."
"Fine, hurry up." Your arms were crossed but your leg bounced up and down as you anxiously looked around.
"Oh calm down (Y/N), it's not like I think you're smart enough to forge these. It's just policy."
"I don't think that's what they're worried about," you recognized that deep voice and you immediately went to put your hand over Miyuki's mouth before anything could happen.
You saw the same purple-haired man from earlier, this time wearing a costume. He looked like he was about to say something more when everything suddenly froze. The birds were stuck in the sky and you looked around, extremely confused. Miyuki grabbed your wrist, and took your hand off her mouth. "What the hell are you doing?! Don't surprise me like that!"
"Wait, what the fuck is this?! I thought-"
"You thought I was quirkless. I know, that was the entire point! I didn't want that old bastard knowing I had a quirk!"
"But where'd you get it from? Is the old man hiding a quirk too?"
Miyuki was clearly upset, she let out an angry sigh. "It's my mother's quirk, but I'm not explaining this to you right now. Clearly, we need to get out of here, don't let go of my hand."
"Wait, how long does this last?"
"Not as long as I'd like, come on." She said, pulling you along, "what kind of trouble did you get yourself in? Did you cheat?"
