Chapter 9

Colton loosened the knot of his blue tie. He pushed himself backwards onto the bed covered with purple colored sheets. The intricate design on the sheets spoke something clairvoyant. Colton let out a sigh of relief in appreciation of his present situation. He felt his wrists which were bound by the silver hand cuffs for years. It did not seem impertinent to a normal soul but something of immense importance to Colton.

A flash of thoughts passed his mind without having any particular repercussions. He verily discovered his next move, helping the Intelligence Department and Natara.

Don was a person of master mind which could defeat any person, this was confirmed. Either one has to plan something extremely unexpected to him or follow his path. Colton went for the premier option. The plan was not charted out but it would soon be. He would do it along with Natara.

Natara is a lady of great skills and talents. She is smart too, she is planning out something new. Maybe a new strategy. This made Colton shudder for second but the embroil swayed away from his mind. He deftly sat erect on the bed and tried to think out the possibilities. However, was interrupted by the sudden bell. The intruder was none other than Natara. She went for a superficial smile on her face and Colton welcomed her. Natara wore a black overcoat and a underneath, a grey outfit. Her sharp features looked extremely unique under the light. She stood in the hallway staring hard in the icy cold eyes of Colton.

"So what are you up to?" she initiated a conversation.

"Nothing much officer. Just trying to figure things out as to how will we enter into the territories of Don,"

"Any success?"

"Not as of yet." Colton ended sympathetically.

Natara shut her eyes for a moment or two and then opened them slowly. Colton noticed her deliberate movement but she made no remark.

"Colton, I don't think Don would make a move," she mentioned assiduously.

Colton did not make a move instead he walked towards Natara. She stood stiffened and looked into Colton's eyes. They were blank but something was invincible which she could sense.

Colton came closer that his mouth covered her ear.

"Don is very cunning," he whispered and left the room. Natara stared ahead of her. The pink speckled wall intrigued her memory but the statement Colton made was reprobated by her, she didn't know any succour reason.

Natara tottered towards the door, only to see Colton floundering into the gruesome darkness of the alley. She did not wish to go after him but stay aloof for some time. An acumen, which had started to develop in the mind of Natara led her to prevaricate to herself. She had some brisk questions in mind. In lieu of asking from Colton, she was ready to answer herself. One of them was-how does Colton know so much about Don? But the query was alleviated as she thought of the past story narrated perfectly well by Colton, if it was true. If it were a sham, then Natara vowed to add Colton on the death list. She shut the door of Colton’s room and inhaled some air. The environment had begun to tense up, or was it something else. Natara felt dizzy. There was something that she was sniffing, which was leading to the following consequences. The antithesis was that that there was no-one in the room before Colton, or was there? With these thoughts in mind, Natara fell to the cold hard ground. She contended hard, but a firm hand gripped both her wrists and something smelling like chloroform covered her nose and mouth.
