BUSINESS PARTNERS

It was 4:00 in the morning when Jaehee woke up to the annoying sound of her alarm clock. "Shut up..." She muttered as she started to flung her arm tiredly over the side of the bed at the beeping machine. She finally hit the button and found herself on the floor at the same time. "Fantastic." She said as she pushed herself off of the floor and started to get ready without wasting time any longer. Today, they were having a new business partner work with C&R, and Jumin was going to introduce them this morning. Jaehee was looking forward to meeting someone new for a change. The office was getting quite boring with her only seeing her boss and her co-workers Anna Cooper and Justin Myers (who were obviously more interested in Jaehee rather than the work itself). After getting ready, Jaehee went to her kitchen, grabbing herself a cup of coffee and a bagel for breakfast. She pulled out her phone as she sat down at her table and entered a chatroom.

[Jaehee Kang entered the chatroom]

Yoosung☆: Jaehee! Good morning!

Jaehee Kang: Good morning ^^

Zen: Good morning~

Jumin: Good morning, Assistant Kang. I suppose you are ready to meet our new business partner today?

Jaehee Kang: Yes, I am rather excited. Could you remind me, what was their name again?

Jumin: Hannah Bertrum. It is not her company but her step-fathers' we are partnering with.

Jaehee Kang: Step-father?

Jumin: Her mother married Mr. Bertrum a few years ago, her daughter changed her last name as well due to her parents' request since Mr. Bertrum does not have any children.

Jaehee Kang: I see. I suppose she is quite trustworthy since Mr. Bertrum trusted her enough to lead this partnership.

Jumin: I hope. I also need you to gather the necessary notes during today's meeting which will be held right after lunch break today and watch Elizabeth the 3rd after work for me.

Jaehee Kang: Are you leaving for somewhere sir?

Jumin: Not really, I will attend dinner with my father tonight to meet her new girlfriend so I will be late and I wouldn't like to leave Elizabeth the 3rd alone for that long.

Zen: I'm sure the cat will be fine by itself??? Besides, don't you have all those maids in your house?

Jumin: Nonsense, I cannot trust them with someone so precious to me.

Mc: Still, considering how tired Jaehee will be after work... Shouldn't you let her rest instead? ^^;

Jumin: As I said, I can only trust Assistant Kang and no one else for such important matters. Besides, I will be paying her extra for this, I suppose this should get rid of any existing problems?

Yoosung☆: Not everything is about money tho...

Jaehee Kang: It's okay guys ^^; I understand your concern and I'm grateful for it, but this is a part of my job and I'm getting what I deserve in exchange for it.

Zen: Still... You should take better care of yourself...

Jumin: Assistant Kang I would like to remind you there are 30 minutes left to work and you should head out soon if you haven't already. Today is especially important and you are not allowed to be late for it.

Jaehee Kang: Don't worry sir, I'll make sure to make it at time.

Jumin: I trust you will.

[Jumin left the chatroom]

Zen: Look at that arrogant bastard! Leaving just like that!

Jaehee Kang: Mr. Han is just stressed more than usual these days... He is worried since this partnership is rather important for the company's future.

Zen: Still, it doesn't give him the right to order you around like this!

707: It does actually since he is her boss.

Zen:...seriously?

707:What??? That's literally his job!

Jaehee Kang: Guys it's really okay! Like seven said; he is my boss and I am his assistant. This is normal for a business relationship.

Zen: Man, fuck this system.

Jaehee Kang: I gotta go... Like Mr. Han said, today is rather important and I shouldn't be late for it.

Yoosung☆: Take care of yourself Jaehee!

Mc: Yes! You should watch your health!

Jaehee Kang: Thank you everyone have a nice day!

[Jaehee Kang left the chatroom]

Jaehee smiled. "They care about me..." She thought out loud as she drank up the last bit of her coffee and drove to work, wondering why the name "Hannah" sounds so familiar...
