Tommy rested his head against Techno's knee, eyes fluttering shut in the dim light.

"You're both welcome to stay here, for however long you need" Kristin carefully sat down opposite the boys.

"Thank you, I really wouldn't be able to handle Tommy on my own" Techno hated to admit it. Maybe techno wasn't as strong as he thought, the idea that his own brother was enduring pain no eleven year old should go through broke him.

Techno's hand gently brushed over Tommy's hair, moving aside one of his curly locks. A heavy silence blanketed the room, all eyes torn away from eachother. Kristin's lips turn into a small smile, her loving gaze once again on the two boys.

"Of course, you are forever welcome in this family" Phil uttered, his hands placed neatly upon his knees. Kristin nodded in agreement, replacing the elders hand for her own.

"Tommy would rather stay here, however much he may argue - kick and scream, he needs a family at this moment in time" Techno's hand found itself resting on Tommys hair, gently running his fingers through them.

"i completely understand, Tommy is like a son to us both! You too tech, wilbur wouldn't stop talking about you when you first met" Kristin paused and took a shaky breathe.

"he saw you as a person he wanted to be, a role model" Her voice cracked under the sweet tone, tears welling in her eyes once again.

"dare I say he saw you as a brother too, not just Tommy" It was like a heavy mist arrose in the room, the air becoming thick under the blanket of worry, guilt and sadness.

Techno never understood the meaning of love, of course he loved Tommy but that's all he ever had to love. Wilbur was a true eye opener to him, a small boy with a wise mind.

"hmm?" Tommy hummed at that conversation, in and out of a daze of tiredness that washed over him. The news too much to bare on his small mind. His eyes adjust to the light, a few blinks longer than others, some collective in a row. Techno always noticed the small details, he'd picked up on Tommy's habit of biting the skin around his nails when faced with new people, or the way he sways slightly when he steps in an attempt to cheer the elder up. Or even the times that Tommy would chew his food for slightly too long, spitting it out in the napkin next to him because it was to mushy for him to swallow.

"would you like a drink or snack?" Kristin's voice broke Techno's train of throught, his head now facing the royal mother.

"I'm fine thank you, what about you Tommy?" the younger grumbled to the question, slapping Techno's knee in response.

"Tommy will have a hot chocolate please" Techno smiled in kritstin's direction, pulling a blanket from the side of the couch to cover the small boy. He shuffled Tommy onto the cushions, tucking the blanket securely under him.

Tommy had never liked big spaces, he would overthink about anything his mind could grasp on. And whilst techno would be willing to sit there and cradle the boy, Tommy would deny stating 'a blanket can do the job'.

Much to his dismay Tommy most definitely coped better with a blanket hugging him than his brother, unhelpful sarcasm that would spill from the elders mouth forgetting how fragile Tommy was.

In his defence, Techno didn't know about Tommy's issues till recently. The nurse at the Royal Palace pointed out the behaviour displayed by Tommy, swaying towards to a type of neurodiversity. Mostly pinned at autism, it explained how Tommy was even from when he was a young boy.

Not long after, Kristin stepped back into the room placing down the hot cups onto the table beside the boys, along side a small plate of biscuits. Techno smiled at her presence, gently nudging Tommy out of his light sleep.

"Your drink is here" he whispered in a hush voice, careful not to startle to the boy. Minutes pass as Tommy slowly sat up, adjusting to the lighting of the cozy room. A small hand reached out to retrieve the cup from the wooden coaster with arm stretched over Techno's knee, knocking it slightly on its trail back. The fire place lit up the small portion of the room, the crackling of burning wood echoed throughout. Tommy took small sips, occasionally looking up at Techno through messy hair.

This felt alot more like home.
