Y/N

A little voice in my head has guided me through my life for as long as I can remember. I'm not sure what it is, but it really does know how to comfort me at the hard times. Sometimes, I feel like it's there with me, the only thing that understands me.

"So did you want to go to that party afterschool?"

I hear Aimsey speak up, she pulls me out of my daydreaming. I give her my best smile, "Uh, the one at Karl's place?"

"Yeah! And get this, I hear Nick's gonna be there!"

"Oh lord not this again."

"Oh c'mon y/n, that kiss in 7th grade meant nothing to you?"

"No, It really didn't Aims."

I chuckle at Aimsey, my best friend of 17 years. We were born on the same day, December 11th. Nick and I kissed during a spin the bottle game in middle school, and since then Aimsey hasn't stopped bothering me about it everytime he's mentioned.

"Well, I think your bluffing."

I was about to speak up when Ms. Ochoa, our English teacher, yells out,
"Y/n! Aimsey! Both of you quit the fuss, Aimsey, you can join Y/n in detention for the remainder of the week."

Aimsey just nods to her, then whispers over at me, "Well, atleast we can draw funny pictures of ducks for 2 hours together!"

It's 4:54, 6 minutes until Aims and I are out of here. I can say with confidence in the 2 hours of hell we have accomplished precisely 47 drawings of ducks in top hats, 28 origami frogs, and 12 and 1/2 pages back-to-back full of our conversations since we can't talk aloud. Aimsey passes me the half sheet and I read carefully:
so u still down 2 go 2 the party? :p

I scribble down:

no way, thats how ever bad teenage drama movie starts, an illegal party

I pass the paper back and watch as her eyebrows furrow, she looks at me and rolls her eyes then aggresively writes down, crumbles, and throws the paper back:

your literally so boring, just go! >:[

I look at the paper and the voice in my head speaks to me yet again,

'Go, I promise you won't regret it.'

I sit for a second, smile, then write back:

fine, im in.

Aimsey an I had went back to my house to get ready, I just wanted to get this night over with, and even though I really don't want to go, the voice in head suggested I do, and it's never done me wrong. Maybe I should come up with a better name than 'The voice in my head' perhaps... I look around my room, a lava lamp, and fake plant, and... an inspirational sign my dad got me as a 15th birthday gift I never hung up. Oh lord dad. Wait... Dream. That has a nice ring to it.
