~ Confession ~

Third year of high school.

As stressing as those sounds, you had a bigger problem to deal with.

Well, for some people who have never experienced having a crush on someone, they would probably think that your problem was nothing important and doesn't deserve to be called a 'problem' in the first place.

But it was stressing.

You sighed as you sat in your seat in the classroom, your legs on the chair as you always hugged your knees close to your chest. You would always do this if you were sad. It was lunch break and, your friend Fatou, who was a year younger than you sat in front of you, frowning as she stared at her best friend. Fatou has been your friend for 6 years, and she knows that whenever you sit like this that there's something wrong.

Fatou: "Hey, Y/N. Is it Taehyung again?"

You flinched as you heard his name and looked up at Fatou, before glancing at Taehyung who was in the same class as you and then you sighed. He was laughing with two of his friends, and you couldn't help but love his smile. His laugh. Everything.

Taehyung was your friend last year, not a close one but still a good one. At the beginning of third year, you found yourself slowly distancing yourself from him as you developed a crush on him, and without either of you noticing, you soon stopped hanging out together and talking.

Fatou: "Why are you smiling like that? You look creepy." Fatou held your chin and turned it to face her.

You blushed and your smile quickly faded.

Y/N: "I-I was smiling?"

Fatou sighed.

Fatou: "You really have to confess."

You looked down and hugged your knees tighter.

Y/N: "I know, I know I have to. And I'm really mad at myself! Just a week more and then will come finals, and then high school ends. And I won't probably see him after that." Your voice cracked as you spoke the last part and looked up as you pouted at Fatou.

Fatou: "Listen. You must confess and ask him out. If he said yes, then good for you. If he said no-" Fatou bit her lip and put her hands on your shoulders.

Fatou: "If he said no, then it's fine. You know why?" She smiled at her best friend.

You just hummed with a frown.

Fatou: "Because that means that he didn't deserve you, and you won't see him after that so no awkward moments, and then you can find your true love at college or something!" Fatou grinned, which made you smile a bit.

Y/N: "Okay. I'll confess today." You determinedly said. You felt nervous already, but then took a deep breath and decided to just do it.

Little did you know that Taehyung had been glancing at you every now and then, and his friends would smirk and nudge him every time he did.
