The kids weren't home yet on a Friday evening. They were still completing all of their tasks and work for the week. The two were quietly watching a movie in their room. Leonor's head rested on Ana's shoulder, their backs to the headboard.
"Bakit kaya may mga tao paring umaasa kahit walang kasiguraduhan?" Leonor asked out of nowhere while munching the popcorn.
"Kase may mga laban na dapat hindi binibitawan?" Ana chuckled after saying those words.
"May mga bagay talaga na kailangan mong ilaban, may mga bagay naman na kailangan mong bitawan. Maybe umaasa parin sila kase alam nilang it's worth the fight. " Ana replied shortly.
She looked Ana in the eyes and asked again. "Parang tayo, ano, Ga?" Ana looked down after a long period of staring. "Ha? Haha ano ka ba? Focus na tayo sa movie, matatapos na oh. Hindi ko tuloy masyadong naintindihan." She said, changing the topic. "And please, don't call me “Ga” or any endearment, please." She awkwardly said.
Leonor exhaled. She was always changing the topic about them. Every time. "Palagi nalang tayong ganito, ano ba talaga tayo?" She was about to walk out the room when Ana's phone beeped. The name on the contacts made her feel sadder. "Is it him?"
Ana looked away. "Yes, and I have to go. He needs me right now." She said as she gathered her belongings and walked to the door.
"I also need you right now, Ga! Paano naman ako? Paano tayo?" She yelled and cleared her throat, stopping the urge to cry. She walked towards her and pleaded. "Please kahit ngayon lang, stay for me, please." She sobbed while holding Ana's hands.
Ana turned around and locked her gaze on her. "If you truly love me, Leonor, you will let me go."
She turned around again, ready to go out of the room when she added.
"There was never an us, Maria Leonor, and That won’t happen." She ended coldly and left.
Leonor was sobbing uncontrollably. She knows Ana doesn't like her, which is why she's doing everything she can for Ana to reciprocate her feelings. Call her desperate or what, but she is, she adores the other woman very much and is willing to give up everything for her. Everything. Even the presidency, just to make Ana love her.
"I love you, Ana, I love you so much, letting go is difficult, but if that's the only way I can make you happy," She sobbed.
"Now, I'm letting you go."
