There are many aspects of a dance that makes it beautiful. There is the choreography that needs to capture the audience, the skill of the dancers, the energy given through the movement, and chemistry. The need for chemistry is something that a dancer longs for. To find the person that moves with you like one and gives the audience that same longing that you felt. I have longed for it since I started dancing. I long for that connection when I dance, to feel that person against my skin, and for it to feel like I was always supposed to be there. I am starting to think that maybe only a select few get the luxury of experiencing it.

I walk into the studio with an energy drink in one hand and my duffel bag in the other. My eyelids dread being open at 7 in the morning and my head is not in the right place to meet new people.

This is bullshit it's only the introduction why is it so early

I was recently accepted into a dance show called A Collection of Broken hearts. Within the show, each dance tells the story of a broken heart. I was placed as the lead in the piece of a love/hate relationship. The song is War of Hearts by Ruelle which excited me beyond imagination. I have wanted to perform choreography to this song since I heard it. Although the excitement did not hit me this morning as I set down my drink and took off my crocs. I sat down and pulled out my phone as Erin sat next to me. Erin had been accepted into the same dance I had and even though we auditioned for the same role we had become pretty good friends during auditions. They plopped down next to me and stole a sip of my drink.

"I'm guessing you're not a morning person," they said, looking me up and down.
I was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants and did not even bother with my hair.

"What gave it away, the hoodie or the energy drink," I said before a yawn.

"It was the drool still on your face" Erin chuckled before swiping a hand across my face and wiping it on my sweats.

"Whatever" I rolled my eyes

The cast had started to mingle when the choreographer walked through the door. Malik Knox was a renowned contemporary and ballet dancer and the fact that I was going to be performing his choreography still had not hit me yet. His choreography has always given me chills. His movement oozed chemistry and intensity. I had watched one of his shows a little while ago and was blown away by the sheer emotion that came from the stage. I was terrified when I met him at auditions and now I was going to be working with him every day. It was unreal.

I whipped my head around to see the legend himself when I was met with not only Knox but a man covered with purple scars. The scars danced across his face and chest and I couldn't help but wonder how far they went. He was taller than Knox and was wearing a black button-up with black jeans. The shirt was buttoned only from the third down and the sleeves were rolled to his elbows.

God damn who the hell is this guy

His black hair looked ratty and spiked. His scars were lined with piercings that resembled staples holding his skin together. His sharp blue eyes caught mine and my stomach dropped. It felt like an eternity, his eyes holding mine, the world felt slow. And even though his eyelids covered half of them, they pierced into me like a tanzanite spear. His head cocked subtly as he looked away. I hadn't realized I was holding my breath until it filled my lungs on command. I looked at Erin who hadn't noticed the interaction.

" Alright," Knox said, gesturing for the cast to gather around. " Now that we are all here I will be explaining your roles"

" Dabi and Y/N will be dancing as your two leads" He gestured to the scarred man and your eyes met once more.

"I look forward to working with you" I extended my hand as a greeting expecting him to copy the gesture.

" Don't fuck this up" Dabi glares at my hand and walks away.

My jaw goes slightly slack as I try to comprehend the events that had taken place
The audacity of this bitch. What does he think that he is better than me? I'll show him who needs to keep up. I'll make him regret that he ever used that attitude with me.

I walked down the hall to head home when I caught a glimpse of black hair turning the corner. I was going to give him a piece of my mind.

Should I really be starting shit on the first day? No, you know what he started first. He woke up today and chose violence I'm only returning the favor.

I speed up to catch him around the corner to the stairway.
" Hey, jackass" I yelled to the bottom of the stairs where the dark man stood.
He slowly turned toward me. He had an annoyed half-lidded look in his eyes which only fueled me more.

" What the hell was that in there." I thudded down the stairs becoming very aware of the fact that I was wearing crocs which I would imagine wasn't very intimidating. " I don't even know you and you are treating me like the scum on your shoe" I am now eye to eye with him. Well not quite eye to eye. I didn't quite notice the height difference until just now when I had to almost completely bend my neck upwards to meet his eyes.

He looked me up and down before replying.
" This is dance sweetheart" His voice rattles through you " If my comment ruffled your feathers that much then you don't belong here."

He slowly started to move closer causing me to walk backward toward the wall so he wouldn't run into me. He kept walking until I ran out of room. My back hit the wall with a thud, his hand found a place on the wall next to my head. His figure became quite close to mine as he Leaned forward, his mouth hovered next to my ear. My breath caught in my throat as his breath grazed my ear
"loosen up princess, you are going to be seeing a lot of me so get used to it"

I fought against my body which was trying to buckle against his words.
He's an asshole you cannot be doing this right now

Then his eyes met mine for the third time that day. But this time I could feel the fire blazing behind them. He was dead serious about this and it showed. I looked down to avoid his eye contact, the action of weakness only pissing me off. His rough hand grabbed my chin so I would meet his eyes. They glanced at my lips and back up again. In a split second, he pushed off the wall and resumed walking to the exit. Once He was out of sight I slid to the ground.

This is going to get a lot more complicated than I thought it would.
