Greetings you may remember us only in the belief that we are nothing more than a part of the mythologies of your ancient day. But I assure you we are real and we are here to fix our mistake. A mistake from back at the beginning of your race and our part in it, for that you have our apologies, as does every race you've met.

When we first met you, we were teachers traveling the stars seeking young and old races both to learn from and share. My race was full of hope that we all could better the endless Star Ocean. You were very primitive, just barely making tools and homes for yourselves, with most of your kind still living in caves. We were unsure about whether you are a race or an animal, so we watch you to see.

The elders decided that leaving you and looking for a better options should be our course, but a handful of us saw your potential and argued for you. I regrettably was one of the few who saw your potential. We eventually convince the others to at least try teaching you, which is something I know I'll regret till the day I die.

We agreed the best way to start was to get you out of your caves completely. To do this, we teach you how to build homes better than a pile of sticks surrounded by mud and grass. I thought it would be easy, but the only thing you got easy was the hunt, not anything else. This should have been my first warning. You had to work hard in order to learn to tan the animal's hides or to sew them together, but you did Still succeed.

It took years, but you did eventually make huts covered in furs for shelters all on your own, from making the thread to preparing the hides you could do it. It took so long many of us who didn't want to stay started talking about how this showed you had no potential and should leave you as nature intended. I wish we had listened to them.

But instead of leaving, we continue to watch over you well, teaching how to grow stronger. The next important thing we taught you was farming, since you wouldn't have to be nomads following the migratory animals. It didn't take as long to teach you farming, but after that, you wanted more than your simple huts. The fact you demanded we teach you how to make better homes should have been a warning, but we saw no harm in it.

We helped you make houses of wood and stone and, like farming, you learn much faster than you had before. Those of us who it saw your potential from beginning were proud to be proven right since you kept learning faster every time we taught you something new. However, some of us felt unsure because you were demanding things from us when you should only learn them as we thought you were ready or on your own merit. After all, if you stop learning on your own, what happens when we leave?

Some of us said it was time to leave again before you became dependent on us. I was not sure you had definitely grown a lot since we came, but should we leave just as you're getting to be truly wonderful students? We taught you one more thing than we would reevaluate and likely leave for a few centuries unless you needed guidance or teaching at that point.

We taught you a skill that was foreign to you, Metalworking, in order to make metal tools and weapons, unfortunately this was a turning point and not a good one. With steel came superiority to all the predators of your world other than my race. This planted darkness in your hearts. Even if some of my kind say you always had darkness in your hearts, we still help it grow.
