I could spend quality time with Victor, even if we were not on the ice, because he was a wonderful person to be around. As soon as practice was finished, he would take me to get hot chocolate and we would go for a walk around the park together with Makkachin. There were times where he would reach for my hand and hold it, and even though I knew we didn't know each other for very long, I didn't mind at all if he held my hand. Victor was one of the most charming, kind and adorable men I have ever met. When I said he was a very flirtatious man, I really meant it. During our conversations, there were times when he would almost kiss me and be overly affectionate toward me. This did not put me off, as I was beginning to develop feelings for him as well.
"Viktor, can I ask you something?" we were sitting on the shoreline the London Harbor. "You can ask me anything, krasivaya." Viktor smiled adorably. "What made you want to figure skate?" I smiled back. "What an insightful question," his accent made his words sound so regal. "I loved the fact that figure skating is both a sport and an art form. It's a whole new way of telling a story to the spectators and hopefully inspiring someone."
"Like you inspired me?" I asked sweetly. My compliment made him smile, "Yes, and you have inspired me."He extended his hand to me and he touched my face. "You are an amazing woman, Tessa Middleton, I hope you'll remember that." "But you hardly know me," I replied breathlessly. "I have all the time in the world to know you." he told me. I beamed happily, "Viktor, thank you." I hugged him, and he returned the hug, stroking my hair. "My pleasure."
Soon it was time for us to go to China, and I was over the moon that I would be attending the tournament with Viktor as my coach. The downside was that I would remember that I'm afraid of flying. It was going to be a long flight."Tessa, are you alright?" Viktor was looking nervous for me as we settled into our seats on the plane. "I'm fine," I really just wanted to sit down and start my breathing exercises. "No, you're not. Tell me what I can do for you." he genuinely wanted to help, and I couldn't condemn him for that.
"It's really embarrassing," I replied hesitantly. "There's no need to be embarrassed, you can tell me anything, remember?" Viktor invited kindly. I inhaled and then exhaled, "Okay, ever since I was a little girl, I've been afraid of flying. Turbulences scare me to death."
Viktor just smiled, "You don't have to be embarrassed, krasivaya," he put his arm around me and held me close to him. "I'll hold you the entire time, if you're comfortable with that." he was so kind to gain my approval of things regarding my anxiety. I nodded, "Yes, I'm comfortable with that." I leaned my head on his shoulder and he tightened his hug. "I'll never let go, Tessa."
Throughout the flight, I held onto him and stroked my hair to help me stay relaxed, and he was attentive to me at all times. With his free hand, he held mine. We had been practicing for the four months he lived with me and my family, and I felt we were closer than ever before. Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep on his shoulder. I could still feel him stroking my hair, "I'll keep you safe; you can count on me." he whispered to me.
